I have changed my Splash Screen. US Set latest firmware. About the exact steps, maybe later. Maybe it is changing it when viewing the pictures using picture viewer. I have checked my Nuvi 205W. There is no option for me to change the Splash Screen. As you said, the splash screen changing might allow...
