Garmin Nuvi 1250

Guys,

I bought the 1250 and tried loading the MFM to the main memory /Garmin folder using the installer. But it does not show up in the maps selection setting.Any help is much appreciated.

Create a folder called "Map" in root of either device memory or your microSD card, and copy and paste your map file there. For the Nuvi 1xxx series, you are not limited to gmapsupp.img file name, so you can call this map mfm.img if you like.

Now my 1250 had this preloaded Garmin CN map, is it whenever there's a latest version in myGarmin, i can download it free?

How about the software, whenever there's a latest version, i can download it free too?

Garmin CN map update not free

MFM map + update is weekly and FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Go to ur download section and download installer

Install the gmapsupp.img into your Nuvi SD card

i just finish install mfm garmin map into my 1250 nuvi.. yeah, it's pretty tricky to get it done...
but lastly it was a success.

but now the new problem occurred, my garmin hang on startup..
and when i connect to the computer, it doesn't even detect the device.
any idea how to countermeasure this problem.

Did it work properly BEFORE the MFM map install ?

What did you do during the MFM map install ?

Did you erase, modify any files ?

definately not..
it's been my practice to backup everything b4 i install a new map..
basically i had try run the nuvi after i installed the mfm map..and it's worked..!! but only after i copied back the backup file into my garmin, the garmin hang at start up...

hurmm... but if i accidentally delete an important file, is there any way to recover the file again..?
is there any way to access the garmin's disk..?

sighhh.... any adea sifu's..?

edited: just send the gps for warranty claim, don't know whether can or not. But the shop did say there are many cases like this due to new installation procedure on the new generation of garmin device. (1250 etc)

Call up to ABT company the gay just say all the new set is like the same ....and he had fedback to Garmin,wait for the new software release.

What maps is the set pre-loaded with ? What other stuff is inside the set ?

My experience, the bigger the map, the longer it takes to boot-up.

just only originality map inside the devices,had been update the Maps & software V2.3
still the same problem.
