concepto,

I am also new here, I'll try,

If I remember correctly, there are two ways (may be more) to revert back to previous FW.

1) Copy the file GUPDATE.GCD from your US V.3.90 back-up back into your Nuvi Garmin directory and let it flash.

2) Use 765 US390.rgn. and Updater.exe.. You can find these files in this forum and others. Pray and good luck.

BTW read this thread from the bigining again and you may find your way.

Thanks.

Hi

I have problem with Stop and Detour function on my Nuvi 765T. My Nuvi is on Taiwan Firmware Ver3.00.

Below is the scenario

First test today,I am not getting the STOP AND DETOUR buttons.I pressed the GO button to my destination Masai. After sometime I decided to go somewher else.I was on Masai Lama Road. When I press MENU,the STOP or DETOUR button does not come like my garmin nuvi 205.So I pressed GO to another destination. The screen went white but remained on Masai Lama Road.Tried to off and on back again. The screen was still white. After a few tries,The STOP button came and I pressed it.Now a new road map appeared.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Just a check, have you locked onto satellites to get your current location?
Can the GPS locate you in Malaysia, showing in the map?
Everyone contribute a bit, eventually we can enjoy and benefit more in our navigation.

Must be something wrong with your maps or setup.

Mine also Taiwan born Nuvi 765. I do not experience it being to bad. Address search may take long time but not menu which is like instantaneous.

Please advise what map version did you use and how did you put it inside your gps.

Do a printout of your Nuvi main memory /garmin and SD card/garmin and post here

My unit's a little under a year old. Bought in Singapore. AFAIK, the problem started to manifest itself while I was in Brunei last Feb.

What happened was, it started off with "disconnections" from my laptop while it was connected via USB. It would "disconnect" then sort of reboot. That went on for a couple of days. Until it came to a point where it just disconnected and went on reboot but wasn't able to finish loading anymore. I figured, maybe it was not being charged via my usb port anymore and just went battery flat. Tested it with the usb wall charger, it would boot but it would just go up to the part where it says, "loading maps". I've also tried to reset it (pressing on the lower left while booting), it would get me through the reset screen and dialogs, but after it reboots, it just gets hung up in the "loading maps" part. The progress bar indicator also differs from time to time. The most was about 80% towards booting.

I have also tried leaving it "on charge" (as I can't see whether it's really charging or not since it's frozen) 'coz maybe it's just a flat battery.

During the holy week, after I got approval for local leave while we were on standby for a project here in the Philippines, managed to test it again using the cradle and charger in my car back in the province. Still no luck. It still freezes up to the "loading maps" section.

Anybody got any idea for now? What's happening? Anything. TIA.
