If you are from Sg, you are not allowed to bring any GPS devices into any military installation including training grounds. It's against SAF regulations.

On the map, the chart datum will be indicated if it is surveyed with GPS.
For Singapore, using MGR, I use chart datum - Kertau 1948.

During my ICTs, I drive into my SAF camp with my nuvi stuck on my windscreen, no one ever commented it's against SAF regulations.

no Lah. it's just joke... see at viewtopic.php?p=108596#p108596 and viewtopic.php?p=108598#p108598 for detail.
actually that is first military outdoor GPS at '1970... vietnam war era
the current military gps is more more accurate than 60csx, about < 1 squareroot DOP compare than commercial gps.
eniway military gps was not only a receiver but transmit to satellite, to request missile attack or jets' fighter squadron..

as i know the buddys in military not need the "map road", hence they use the old road map.. not important thing.
they more important using topography map and can baypass the road... :finga:
They have the satellite imaging in their stuff rather than commercial road map as we have

The military area and important place usually have gps jammer to bend gps coordinat, during the gps signal can be deceived by gps jammer, then Buddy's missile not only using gps signal towards target but using laser lock and infra hot tracker because laser lock & infra tracker cannot bend by gps signal jammer..

i'm not sure if GPS devices are banned. due to the lack of issued GPS many army personnel including regulars use their own GPS.
