The problem with using the MFM map on the 3790 is not confined only to your device. A few of us 3790 users also faced the same problem.[/quote]

Noted. Besides the colored polygons unable to show on maps, Any 3790 users able to use below feature?

1) Junction View
2) Lane Assist

Also, is there possible to save GPS location onto phone contact (via bluetooth)? (Garmin XT mobile able to do so)

Bro gychung, FYI I borrowed another set to replicate your problem. Did so and not experienced your "perceptual" symptoms .... Able to copy / delete at will .....

Try what Bro zeus73 says, to try on another PC/Lappy.
Your set could be a "lemon", in which case bring it back to Navicom for a health check / warranty fix

Let me try with a different PC.
I'm in KL, not convenient to go to S'pore just to fix the Navi.
I believe Garmin Kl would be able to help........hopefully

FYI. There will be a new update of the 3790 firmware available on www.garmin.com.sg in few weeks time. Alternatively, you can visit the service centre anytime from now to get your device updated immediately. The estimated time for each upgrade is around 5-10 mins.

FYI.

If you going to use MalFreeMaps Map, please don't upgrade the software from 2.00 to 2.20 because it will cause the roads in the maps not to display correctly. And hope this may solve with coming software update. Below is the software update for Europe region.

Changes made from version 2.20 to 2.50:
Fixed an issue that could cause a hourglass to display indefinitely during an address search.
Fixed an issue that could cause a shutdown if viewing the Trip Planner page at the exact second that the trip is scheduled to begin.
Fixed a potential shutdown when viewing the Where Am I page in certain countries.
Fixed an issue that could cause the unit to get stuck in the Voice Command interface.
Fixed a potential lockup when retrieving advertisement data.
Fixed an issue that could cause a unit to remain stuck on the Loading Maps screen.
Fixed an issue with the dial tone not using the correct volume level.
Fixed an issue that could make the Touchscreen unresponsive after resuming.
Fixed an issue that caused End User License Agreements to incorrectly display in Night mode.
Fixed a potential shutdown caused by certain map geometry.
Fixed an issue that would cause a unit to shutdown when images were loaded into multiple folders.
Fixed an issue that caused the Trip Planner to show incorrect number of days for certain months.
Fixed an issue that caused maps not to display for certain countries if other maps were loaded.
Fixed display of two-line destinations in the Trip Planner.
Fixed an issue that caused Flemish not to display as an available language.
Fixed a potential issue when calculating a route with traffic.
Fixed an issue that caused custom Points of Interest alerts to only occur on one side of the road.
Fixed an issue that could cause unit not to turn ON correctly after suspending.

My units is on version 2.50, may be this is the reason I can't use the full function of MFM map ?

Which is worse ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

Remain on firmware 2.0 and experience sporadic auto-resets during navigation

or

Upgrade to firmware 2.2 which solves the above mentioned but experience non display of road lines on certain portions of MFM map.
Take note despite this, non-display of road lines, routing still functions.

IMHO, between the 2 evils, the latter is the lesser evil :ko:

I dunno what is Garmin doing. Resolved some initial issues with the original firmware by a firmware upgrade to ver 2.20 and with the upgrade, a new set of problems have surfaced. To me, it is like jumping from the frying pan into the fire. Now, with firmware ver 2.20, when using cgpsmapper compiled maps like the MFM or MSM ver 4.xx maps, many road polygons are missing and worse, even with Garmin CN map, many small roads and alleys are not shown on the map and POIs can be found sitting in the middle of the road. I suspect the new firwmare upgarde (ver 2.20) is just a "patch" job and not a cure to the solution. Darn it, Garmin!!!!! :fire: :fire: :fire:

I just get my hands on Nuvi3790SG/MY 2 hours ago. i began with trying some features like voice command stuff, 3D buildings and maybe 3d landscaping contour (not sure, because i sold it after 20minutes ago)
after try those features , of cos, i load in the MFM map (august version) to see how pretty mfm inside this new 8.9mm thinkness nuvi , but then i found some roads cant be shown, it is like some polygon mapping is covering the road, and the shape is rectangular, but i also suspecting the some preloaded maps is lay on top of mfm layer. so, i pandai pandai disable those ori maps in the device , nope, nothing happen, then connect into pc, go '.system' and change the img name to other for disable it, same same....nothing happen, even try to disable bmap.img, nothing change also.
so far, i havent try the latest mfm map in it, maybe problem came from august mfm map? i have no chance to try now because nuvi3790 not with me now.
if any one here have nuvi3790, please try mfm on it and let me know whats the problem.
i will get nuvi3790 stock very soon.

anyhow.... nuvi3790 is most sexiest garmin nuvi! =P~

yes, same problem here... even tried the settings mentioned here.

when you route you will see the direction line. if not mostly empty :(

now using the default maps... not as good as MFM *sigh*
