If you had converted to Nuvi2W, it can be safely reverted to normal RGN US/Eu firmware. You need to generate RGN from Nuvi2x5W US/Eu (HWID0827) GCD firmware. Then use Updater.exe to flash the RGN into Nuvi. To learn how to generate RGN, read more here: viewtopic.php?f=28&t=9074&start=10

Bro considering the biggest map in Garmin's inventory is continents of Europe / USA / Australia / China with each no bigger than 2G, you will be safe with a 4G card.

I myself using a 256M card for MFM :-'

According to Garmin Website, the max capacity for SD card in a Nuvi is 16G

Abort nuvi 205w (US unit)

Postby chyang04 » Fri Nov 19, 2010 12:37 pm

Hi there,

i'm the 1st time using GPS unit and i bought from US (010-00718-40).

Just want to ask that if i update the latest firmware v7.10 (release from official Garmin) then can i still able to use MFMaps?

How abort the JCV? I read some threads here all talking about F/ware2.60 only can use JCV for 205w.

I'm just noob...

PS: By the way, currently my f/ware is v6.50
Thanks

If that Firmware v6.5 does not give you any problem with the map, don't update.
Garmin is trying hard to avoid 3rd parties map, so the latest firmware might not support MFM. This is just my own assumption.

MFM does not support JCV / LA. Only MSM NT and Garmin NT supports this feature and only on localized sets.

Garmin Nuvi keeps resetting

Postby jolipoli81 » Sun Nov 28, 2010 10:46 am

Hi people, I have some problems with my Nuvi 205w

When I connect the nuvi to my computer, it started up with the Copyright screen and then, loading Maps screen and after around 10 secondes, it shuts off by itself. Seconds later, it will automatically on by itself, the process is repeating again and again.

Without any cables, it just started up with the Copyright screen and then shutted down by itself.

I've tried doing a hard reset by holding the right bottom while sliding the on/off button to no avail
Tried holding the on/off button for decades, to no avail too.
I even pealed off the stickers at the bottom to check if there is any reset button, and there is none!

Any input is appreciate, thanks
