Why merge when both maps can co-exist in the unit ? You can choose which map you want to use and maximize your experience with features available in one version that is not available in the other version ? The choice is yours ...

See my "post" two post above this one on how to do it ...

put in all the maps successfully already.

observation.
- speaker is loud and really clear.
- screen brightness at max seems to be not so bright - perhaps some new matte screen improvement.

as for the flip display - it does work but not too sure it will during junction view .. will try later.

btw - newbie question - MFM maps does not have JV ?

Just saw a Nuvi 2465 at SLS today. The asking price was Sin$330.

Nuvi 2460 form-factor is like a Nuvi 1350 except that it has a "hot-dock" feature.
For Nuvi 1350 you have to manually plug the USB connector to rear of unit.

Aesthetics / Display resolution wise the 3790 is way superior with an Apple iPhone like appearance but at a premium price of Sin$499.

Bang for the buck, is to get the older 1350 whose asking price is Sin$199

For newer series, it offers you flexibility for multiple maps. All you need to do is put the Garmin format map into /map directory and rename the gmapsupp.img into any file name you want. The number of maps in the /map directory is the limit of the memory capacity of the SD card.

This is also valid for maps put into Main Memory /map.

BUT we highly recommend NEWBIES to use the SD card for storage / update of maps as the Nuvi is very UNFORGIVING to any map corruption which results in it being BRICKED ( it loops forever in loading map ) With SD card map corruption, you just remove the SD card and delete the "corrupted" map

:prayer: :prayer: :prayer: :prayer: thank you sifu .. got what you mean ...

Actually you can put another map in SD:/Garmin folder but using the gmapsupp.img name. The nice thing is that you can also have the JCV file in SD:/Garmin/JCV/ and you'll have JCV as well!
