I have tried the method used by Bro iggi3z, ie. to zoom in and out all the way to the max, but still unable to view the map. The screen only show my favourite poi. Anybody have any idea how to resolve this? Thx

When running the MFM executable file to generate map, select remove polygons.

Thank you very much Sifu. It works, although I have to sacrifice losing polygons which I like so much. Another thing is that, the road details can only be seen until zoom level 500 m. Once we reach zoom level 800m, only major roads are visible.

I have 2565 and I can concur the same problem happen to me as well. My work around is the same as yours or simply reboot the GPS to be sure.

Hi, Have been lurking in MFM for quite a while. But since I've owned 2575R, would like to share the issues faced using MFM.
Maybe can help fellow members who knows the tech details to solve the probs.

- It like to keep re-calculating a few times before deciding on a route.
- When MFM map is selected, no voice guidance will be available. Throughout the route, GPS remains absolutely silent. Strange.
- Routing seems a bit screwy when it received Traffic information. Since only NAVTAQ maps have enabled the traffic, I need to neable this together with the MFM maps. Could this be an issue?
- Tried adding the traffic camera POI in using MP3 format. It doesn't seem to work too.

These are what I've observed.
That includes not reading or refreshing the maps as well.

Just copied from viewtopic.php?f=11&t=10730

Mod said ;
I already mentioned that newer 1xxx, 2xxx and 3xxx series behave differently from the older 2xx, 3xx, 4xx, 5xx, 6xx, 7xx, 8xx series .....

For newer series, it offers you flexibility for multiple maps. All you need to do is put the Garmin format map into /map directory and rename the gmapsupp.img into any file name you want. The number of maps in the /map directory is the limit of the memory capacity of the SD card.

This is also valid for maps put into Main Memory /map.

BUT we highly recommend NEWBIES to use the SD card for storage / update of maps as the Nuvi is very UNFORGIVING to any map corruption which results in it being BRICKED ( it loops forever in loading map ) With SD card map corruption, you just remove the SD card and delete the "corrupted" map

So...anybody have tried it?

Another way...viewtopic.php?f=11&t=10730&start=50

U try exclude the polygon & tick custom when generated the gmapsupp maps.
Don't choose full.

I think it can solve the problem. My friends use 3790 also have this problem. After tick exclude polygon & custom. The problem is solve. Maybe 2465 is same.

I have purchased Garmin Nuvi 2575R yesterday @ Digital Mall. The only problem, how can I install MFM maps in the Garmin. I've tried above tips but still not visible. Anybody can give the method in detail what to do?

It's the same way as what you have posted in the past two posts before your latest post.

The map must be generated with the following options:
1. excluding the polygon &
2. select custom

The generated map must be in the map directory of the SD card....

I do like that but MFM map still not visible in the mymaps to choose. Map I keep a folder "map directory" on the micro sd card. So how can I select the MFM map in the Garmin?

Using MFM installer, generate and transfer gmapsupp.img into SD card/map directory. Rename file to MFM.img.
Map should show in MainMenu-Tools-System-MyMap. Tick / untick box to enable / disable respective map

Been made as follows:
- Map I switch to MFM.img.
- On Garmin / Main menu / Tools / Settings / MyMaps.
* Still not visible to choose that map (MFM.img).
* Only available MSM & City Navigator.
