Bro zamad,

Sorry to hear of your pproblem again.

I better test my unit fully before the warranty is gone.... what a disappointment! You're lucky you are in KL for me it'll be postage gone to the drain each time I've to return for warranty.

No wonder it is called Special Deal....   now I understand.

At least it is Special Deal... not Special One. ha ha ha.

From Aeco, I hooked up the PND and camera, then navigated back to Shah Alam. All was ok till this point. While stopping at the traffic lights in Sri Petaling, I started recording.... and it lasted only 2 mins 57 seconds before it shut down. And I wasn't even speeding on Kesas. :finga:

I have not yet place an order to AECO yet! after reading such predicament of our bro.Zamad and others on the issue of camera incompatibility with the unit 2575R.

I might think twice before getting it! and wait for stable performance of the camera with the unit is settle, then I would get it!

Cheers!

If it was a power surge, then I would have expected the cigarette adapter to blow a fuse, but then, no... the circuit board takes the full brunt of the surge.

bro moeyhc,
Maybe for your case, money down the drain in terms of postage when sending it back to AECO. Maybe cheaper (but definitely longer), but I have to consider petrol, toll and time + parking difficulties.

bro tlchuan,
Nice... I like your friction mount. If it has lasted 8m 36s, then it should be able to run for a long long time. =D>

Just a note that "other adapter" will not work with the camera because the Mini USB ID pins need to be tied to the GND pin with a 17.4K Ohm resistor. My standard Garmin power supply won't run the camera and can only charge the unit.

My 2A adapter LED is also dim... I like it this way as it will be less irritating at night.

Bro zamad,

Agreed, travel, parking & time are all money... I'll know my fate tonight when I plug it in using the home charger... [-o<

Plug the unit into the car and the same hour glass starts spinning... Power off and remove the charger and unit from the cradle. Re install and it work... :x recorded my trip all the way without any problem.

Some how I have a feeling that the camera did not reset when the GPS is turned off and only after I remove it completely from the cradle that it able to initialize properly. At last it is working.... and I'll test it further for the coming weeks...

I wrote to Aeco about my disappointment regarding the replacement unit. They replied that I come see them for one last time  as they wanted to do a thorough check-up of the 'system'. ie from the car cigarette port to the PND... I hope I find a parking lot near their shop this Saturday. Until then, my unit is the 2565, like Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.
