Thinking of getting another unit of Garmin for my other car, need advice if possible. Currently I'm using the 310 but it seems that the satellite connection gets cut in half by V-Kool whenever I enter the car! Apart from using retrans antenna which I find quite troublesome, is there any other Garmin GPS unit out there that has stronger satellite reception?

TIA!
I too have V-kool USA in my Pajero but my Nuvi200W works normally. I put my unit on the front windscreen. Do note that my front windscreen is by 3M.

Nuvi 310 has capability to add standard external antenna as there is an outlet on the side of the antenna. Standard external antenna is much cheaper vs re-rad antenna.

The newer 205 and 700 series uses internal antenna which are not much better vs the external flip antenna of the 300 & 600 series. Best is to cut a small slot on the windscreen where you mount the GPS.

So far that sounds like the best idea as conti cars are notoriously difficult to route and external antenna into the car. Will do that when I go and tint the new car.

Thanks!

Just my 2 cents whort...
I do believe that there is an Imitation V-Kool around. In My sisters CRV, with my Dopod 810 the signal strength dropped to almost nill. and on my friends swift with V-kool there was no difference inside or out. :ko:

The model 72 is not for someone who wants to navigate thru cities. It is primarialy for basic navigation using entered waypoints. This GPS device has only internal memory. If you plan to store many trips or add base maps, you may wish to consider a unit that has removable storage media.
Warmest Regards
