can someone out there teach me step by step how to use garmin gpsmap296 as i m totally new to this thingy. wat i need is how do i download the software and from where do i need to downlaod? i heard that malsingmaps.com is a good site, rite?

adjust voice prompt to speak within 10-20m before next turn

hii gang...anyone know how to adjust voice prompt to speak within 10-20m before turn? for me i don't want my nuvi speaks too early within 200-300m before next turn...and i miss the turn.. :-k

I bought a China gps device. it was install with garmin nav n go iGO 8 v8.0.0.44898. Can i insert the maps in here to this device and how? i browse through the sd card but cannot find item related to maps...where to paste the maps?

Garmin Nuvi Imitation

Dear all,

Just read through the authorized distributor page stating that there are Imitation on Garmin Nuvi model selling in malaysia below are the quote from the distributor

" IMPORTANT NOTICE TO OUR GARMIN CUSTOMERS

It has come to our attention that there are imitation unit of Garmin's nuvi models currently being sold in Malaysia. These products operate on the Microsoft Windows CE platform. Kindly be informed that all genuine Garmin nuvi products operate on Garmin’s proprietary operating system and NOT on Microsoft Windows CE ."

Kindly take note on this just trying to share with every 1 :)

i just saw someone selling at lowyat forum, it using garmin xt mobile software! price is 400-600~! Quality no idea~!

Just support original GARMIN~! It works perfectly with MALFREEMAPS~!

They turn Mobile XT become like Mapking or Papago to install in the Win Ce, the device can work with few GPS software like what PDA is doing.
