The latest mfm map seems to have it disabled... When you do an address search, it does not work as there are no cities found, no matter which option I enable on the mfm map installer....

I tried address search on a Nuvi 255W, 765 and 3790. They all worked.

Which address did you try ?

Please re-download and re-install MFM

Anyone used 2565 and connect reverse camera to the gps and use it as the reverse camera screen?
Is it compatible only with Garmin's GDR-10 camera or other camera works as well?

Yes. Someone has successfully fixed up a reverse camera with this set before.

Your second query is not known as far as I know.

Garmin Nuvi 2565LM

Dear all,

Apologise for this newbie question, since this is the first time I have a Garmin Nuvi PND after using GPS apps on my mobile phone for years.

I have just bought a Garmin Nuvi 2565LM today, and found out that there are 3 maps preloaded on the device: MFM 2012.10, MSM 2011.40 and CN 2011.40. May I know on whether we can add new map, e.g. MFM latest map or Indonesia Navigasi map into the device, without SD card?

I have connected the device in mass storage mode, but the "Garmin" folder doesn't contain any maps. I found a "map" folder but it only has one gmapsupp.img file with a gmapsupp.sum file, instead of three files. Is Garmin combining all the maps (MFM, MSM, CN maps) into one single gmapsupp.img?

To which folder I need to copy the new map into, and what is the filename?

Thanks in advance.

PS. Earlier I wanted to post this under the Nuvi 2565 thread, but I realised that what I have is a slightly different model, 2565LM instead of 2565, so I created this new thread instead. Apologise if this is not supposed to be the case. :)

Usually Garmin preload map will be stored inside ".System" folder, our PC treat it as Hidden folder and protected operation files, if you want to view the folder, in the Folder Option setting,
Show hidden files, folders and drives - should be "Tick" and
Hide protected operation system files - should be "Untick".
Inside the System folder support
Gmapbmap.img - Base map
Gmapprom.img
Gmapprom1.img

Gmapsupp.img - not support in this .System Folder.

A word of advise hor....

Be very afraid with new thing...

Back up all the software inside the brand new Nuvi, lock stock and barrel, including the hidden directory (very important)....before installing other "foreign" files.

But why don't you get a cheap microSD card for your new toy......less than $10.00 and a 2G one will do. #-o
