I bought the Model 3790 without the TMC at SGD 579 and less SGD31.00 GST.
Had created the folder "MAP" and installed bot Navnet v1.77 and MFM-Garmin 100830.

Here's the outcome, comparing with the 1460:

1) Navnet v.177
The original POI icons are so......... small you can hardly see it.
Some of the POI's are not shown. Map graphics are not as attractive as the 1460.
The "iFly" is more stable the 1460. Named the gmapsupp.img to Navigasi_v177.img.

2) MFM-Garmin map
It can't detect the gmapsupp.img file at all, same thing if rename to MFM_100830.img

Anyone managed to successfully installed the MFM-Garmin map on the 3790 ????

HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My 3790 failed to detect the gmapsupp.img file ](*,)

Hmm... Bro silverbeauty managed to get MFM to work on the 3790. But you need to exclude colored polygons. Else the road won't appear.

How about running the map from microSD card? Try MAP or Garmin folder.

For the new 37XX models, additional maps need to be "located" under /Map folder (you can create this if it isn't already there).

You can name the file anything you like as long as it ends with a ".img"

You can also store maps on the MicroSd card as long as it's located in the /Map folder.

Maps can also be located in the /Garmin folder in the MicroSD card as long as they're named gmapsupp.img

Bro cychung, you can put the map in 2 places.
1. MainDirectory, create a map /Map and put the gmapsupp.img or rename it to whatever name you want
2. SD card /garmin directory with file name gmapsupp.img ( This is the recommended place to put third party map as any mistakes / corruption is user correctable )

For some reason, the MFM road lines will not show up. I managed to make it show up but at expense of disabling the colored polygons. ( see attached screenshots )
In both cases, routing is still working.
Hopefully MFM mapper can take a look at this

Another thing, what is the nett price you paid ? Is it $577+31 = $608 nett ?

What internal memory size do these Singapore units have?

The US models have 8 Gb but the Aust/NZ ones are limited to only 2Gb !

BTW
If you like to activate raw track logging (1 sec interval).

Go the map screen
Press Speed
This will take you to a "Dashboard" like screen
Press and hold on the big Speed button for 8 - 10 secs. I find pressing it with my thumb works best (probably due to size of area).
This will take you to a "Diagnostics Page"
Press "Diagnostic Logging" near the bottom of the screen
Then "Start Recording"
Then press to enable logging to gpx file - rather than "bin" (binary)
Press the top left 3 horizontal line button
Press "Start log"

A semi transparent rectangular icon with "Stop" and a timer at the bottom will appear on your Map screen if the above steps are correctly performed and logging will begin.
Press Stop button to terminate logging.

Logs can be found on
\.System\Logs\gpx

But....

\System folder is a hidden folder which you must first tell Windows to display hidden files and folders being able to access it.

Happy tracking.

There is a major BUG with the 37XX units which I have reported to Garmin USA.

Map POIs are NOT displaying at the moment even when you are zoomed right in!

On Garmin City Navigator maps, no POIs are displayed at ALL.

On third party maps, like mine and MFM's, some POIs do show - such as traffic light icons, toilets, restricted areas etc.

This is most annoying as you can't really use this while walking around looking for POIs in a new unfamilliar area!

Garmin has stated that this will be fixed in an upcoming Firmware upgrade.

According to this, it's 4GB.
