I faced the same problem before hence I asked. Unchecking the MSM map seems not enough and you can't have both maps available even if one is in your Nuvi internal memory and the other is in the SD card.

You have to make the MSM map unavailable by moving it to a folder in your SD card and thus have only the MFM map available as gmapsupp.img.

Alternatively, you need to change the maps IDs to rectify the clash as posted by bro zainalklj here: viewtopic.php?p=3313#p3313.

Keeping the maps in folders (or renaming them) and exposing them one at a time is an easier option. This unfortunately requires the use of a PC so the easier solution when you are on the move is to have 1 SD card for MSM and 1 SD card for MFM and slotting in the one you like to use.

Thank you very much !
I have moved the gmapsupp.img into a newly created folder in the nuvi. And next the loving MFM appears in the nuvi in full!

Thx again Bro. Happy new year!

Hi bro zuree,

Nuvi 205 already has Trip Log as native so I doubt it has in addition, a hidden 1-second tracklog feature like the Nuvi 200. In any case, even if it has, nobody is writing a patch for the Nuvi 205 so you will have to accept the Trip Log for what it is.

If you have fallen in love with the 1-second track log of the Nuvi 200 like I have, I would look for a second-hand 200 if a new one is not available or a new 200W or buy one of the Nuvi 2x0 units. One word of advice if you want to have the 1-second track log activated asap, then you got to make sure that the HWID of the unit you intend to buy has a patch available.

Good luck.

what's the difference between 200W & 205W?
from Garmin Que for Pocket PC to Garmin Mobile XT for Windows Mobile to Nuvi 205W to Papago M9 for Android & now Garmin Nuvi 2576.

The physical differences can be found when you compare the 2 models at the Garmin website.

In what respect are you asking or specifically, what are the differences if any that you are concerned about?

If you are concerned about the 1-second track log feature, the N200W with HWIDs 0737 or 0835 can be patched to activate the feature whereas the 205W cannot and you have to be content with the native Trip Log which is not as good.

as for tracking purposes, the Nuvi200 is not a good choice with low accuracy.
Trip log feature in N205 not designed as a tracking tool as well, it function as a log if user want to know how and where they came from.
