Thank you Nazri and Jason.

I just forgot to mention that I needed to download WinZip in order to uncompress the patch which is a .rar file.

JasonLee wrote:That's strange.

I have both folders in my Nuvi 200 internal memory. The 4 bin files in my ExtData folder do not change at all and have been exactly the same from day one.

The more recent Nuvi 205s have 8 files and they do not change either.

My Nuvi 200 records the tracks in subfolders within the Logs folder and there is one subfolder for each track recorded and the subfolders are named automatically using date and time data.

I usually move these tracklog subfolders to my PC before converting to gpx files to ensure that my GPS internal memory is at its maximum available at all times.

Can't understand why your unit behaves differently but as long as you are happy with the recorded tracks, what the heck?

to share my fabulous experience...for who alwayz failed patch Garmin Nuvi 200w HWID 0737 V4.0..here some tips from me..i thought you just straight to method >>> 2.This applies to my unit as I get a calibration screen inviting me to press the dot when I held the power switch for 45 seconds. For such units, hold the switch for only 5 seconds then connect the USB cable, wait for 3-5 seconds or longer for your PC to recognise your unit. After the drivers are loaded, run the updater.exe and release the switch only when you see data being transferred to your unit. Wait for the LOADING or flashing to complete uninterrupted. If the calibration screen comes on before you can run the updater.exe, switch off the unit and start over..100% guarantee 'BOLEH'.. :champ: \:D/ :-' ..HIDUP MALFREEMAPS.COM..The NuviWorld just Begin...
