For Nuvi to change language, from Main Menu, select TOOLS -> LANGUAGES. The availability of languages is dependent on the unit bought.

is there a difference with firmware updates between the US and local version? mine is v3.10 is this a US or local unit? what is the current version of US and local units? i had with a v2.80 when i bought the 205 and had it updated using Garmin's webupdater..

I just noticed that the US version Nuvi 205 has got 2GB internal memory where else taiwan version has 1GB...could it be because the given north american map (gmapprom.img) is aroun 900+mb in size?

Yes. My Nuvi205W Mal/Sing version has 1GB RAM too, and I understand its latest SW ver is 2.10 (not 3.10 like the Nuvi205W US version).

Bought my Nuvi 205w. I guess.. this is a right place for me to asked question around.

Correct me if i do wrong..

My Nuvi equip my malsing map.. on the Nuvi itself. It has sdcard and i'm putting the MFM converted to GMASUPP.IMG into Garmin folder..
Wil it conflict with malsing map. And I thought of turning the malsing map off in Nuvi
Tools> Setting?system>Map>map info and choose which map i want?

guess which one got the satellite bars all green first... . :-'

cheaper and better....

I tried not once but many times, in Thailand and in Msia...

basically 205 / 205W have updates and hotfixes that speeds up the satellite lock-on.. i've compared 205, 760, and n95 8gb startup satellite lock-on, the 205 got 5bars first and fastest.

The US 200W has a 1Gb internal memory and it comes pre-loaded with the North America maps.
Contribute exclusively to MFM. MSM don't get it !
