I'm still facing annoucement problems. only the start up alert trigger. the normal voice alert to turn in are not working anymore. I think it doesn't work well with 3790 unit. have to send back to the shop to revert back to original file.

In future make if rule of thumb to ALWAYS load additional maps into SD card rather than Main Memory. Any corruption of maps loaded can easily be fix by just removing SD card.

just some updates.

came back fro the shop. they help me to reload everything. after I collected the unit. I try un-tick all the original map in the main unit than insert the srcard map. it work and also can see my the others country maps.

the 3790 folders platfoam are a bit different from what I see at the newbies thread. I'll try to screen capture later to post it out.

thanks again for the the advice.

another update after driving around with the MFM maps and ori maps. both maps together works works fine but the voice alert are gone. so I pull out the SD card and left only the original maps, wolla! the voice are back. I can now confirmed the 3790t doesn't work properly with MFM custom maps?

anyway, thanks alot for all the helps & advice.

Did you enable all maps ? If so you are advised to use only ONE map at a time.

yes! have tried that too. the voice alert doesn't work either. btw! will it causes by double/triple POI files. I follow the custom guide installation to install the custom POI into Garmin folder. but than I notice same files also appear outside garmin folder and also inside original POI folder? :-k

I'm very sure now the 3790 are not working properly with MFM maps. this morning while driving back to my office every back to normal after taking out the SD card with MFM maps. maybe during me creating the MFM maps I tick the additional POI feature that causes the conflicts? done dare to test again as now working perfectly. any other 3790 user can help out?

thanks in a milliions.

Regards,

Jeffery

Happen from Jalan bunga raya to Mr2 all the way to Ulu kelang. from start the GPS will only anounced "pleased follow the highlighted route. after that on the way along the road all the juntion view pic appear but no guide to keep to the right, NO announce to turn left or right until my lock location at ulu kelang. but my revert original maps file now working perfectly. repeat alert also working well. :-k

So now i'm only install the traffic alert POI with the ori maps. it works well. thanks for all the hard work. :prayer:

Ops! forgotten to mention my GPS signal when back to max after the revert. is working normal now too. :peace:

is it normal for the temperature to reach 58C while navigation, must say it's quite hot especially on the right top conner. :ko:

From my recent purchase of the 3790 SG/MY thru another brudder hier on MFM, led me to inquire further about Garmin's Lifetime updates for this unit and was then informed that the local unit is indeed equipped with NT & MSM maps and as we all know,MSM remains being FREE as always, not that of Garmins.

Well, no big deal to worry on this and I was glad I made the right choice as well to coincide my trip and usage in getting a local unit while being there for all I need was to purchase a CD on Europe from Garmin to install on a ext. SD card and thereafter, I can apply & qualify for the Lifetime Map updates on Europe.... WOOT!!!

Following that, I tried asking Perfect Watch at SimLim whether they stock the Eco Route HD unit which they don't resulting from no interests shown on local market demand thus far but it can be ordered nonetheless. From enquiries made with Garmin, the default with warranty on this is straightforward. It has a 1-week duration to return should you, despite having first to check the compatibility list (recommended), and still it does not work with your vehicle, to return immediately for a full refund... with an Official Garmin dealer, not with the many retailers who also sells navigational products.

I'm going to get one as my current vehicle is listed and I already have the Nuvi 1490TV (5" screen) that is supported by this extra management unit even though my car is separately tune up with an extra 48Hp thru chip tuning and a computer on board... it will not conflict with this add-on unit from Garmin.
However, the unit can only support one Nuvi GPS unit to operate despite presence of more than two or more GPS Nuvi units mounted inside the vehicle hence, one can simply select whichever and disable the others with the BT feature.

Since Holland does not have this model as yet nor for a foreseeable time in the future, I will need to order it and it will still be dispatched from the UK. As I'm going there anyway in March, I might as well pick it up straight from the source. \:D/
