hmm guys...
Am considering getting a Papago. I came across another device called Wayway which carries the Papago software.
May I know what is the difference between the Papago and the Wayway hardware?
Which one is more reliable/fast/value-for-money/better touchscreen/better screen resolution?
Thanks in advance!
Garmin or Papago is better?

papago & wayway? ... it's like hp & compaq,
they are "one company" from same distributor.
so Wayway is sister of Papago, i think

for better performance choose the fastest (Arm) CPU & the larger memory (RAM) & internal flash memory (ramdisk).
although all PND can using external microSD to put software, but choose who has bigger 'Internal' flash memory.
internal ramdisk is important for lagging issued that papago map was >300 Mb very big file.
So using internal memory versus external SDCard as well as using pci express flashdisk controller versus external serial usb microcard reader.
such as mine "Taiwan" OEM GPS brand have 4 GB internal flashdisk, so i not need microSD to put papago navigation software & map inside.
viewtopic.php?p=124817#p124817
fyi, the latest PND using 530-550 Mhz ARM processor and for good brand usually using 128 MB Ram & have internal ramdisk, compared to 300-450 Mhz, 64Mb only Ram & have no ramdisk at all for another china's cap ayam brand

...maybe the -m'force'm- will be with you, always..

Well Bro Inggo,

It means that Internal flashdisk/ramdisk better than microSD
and + Fastest CPU = Best GPS

Re: Garmin or Papago is better?
Like I said before... if you only want to buy one GPS unit and you are a traveling person... get a Garmin. The map coverage is World wide. JCV is nice to have (Garmin has it too) but it won't do you any good if you don't have a map to navigate... Buy a 'Papaga' and use it together with paper maps?... you must be kidding me.
This topic sounds very familiar... Nikon or Canon?...
except the other is not Canon... more like Seagulls...
The decision is yours... choose wisely... cheers!

Re: Garmin or Papago is better?
Bro, Your World is small... only 4 Regions and you consider it World wide... did I missed anything?
This is nothing compared to what Garmin can offer... Another advantage are the Free Garmin mapping communities around the World that provide updated local maps just like MfM...

That is OK, bro Moey, at least it is a good start for Papago.

You are still right on the free map, there are not many free mapping communities for Papago.

for 5 region - this is enough, unless you want to travel to africa or want to going antartica

yup, you alright, even i must buy "update" US garmin map for my 295W nuvi ( buy with US map bundled..!)moeyhc wrote:That is OK, bro Moey, at least it is a good start for Papago.![]()

Garmin provides a free map just "once" if you buy new nuvi and get once update, so you must 'buy' for another update

anyway garmin sell all of their map, there is no free maps for officially garmin NT map, except from community.
