Dear,

May I know Nuvi 3790 signal reception will be better than previous Nuvi 760?
Currently I'm using Nuvi 760 with external antenna because the signal reception inside my car very poor (with V-Kool tinted).

Besides, does Nuvi 3790 drawing speed faster than Nuvi 760?

It is better but any GP, Garmin or other brands, performance with V-Kook ( metal based ) shielding willl degrade.

Bro keongjbmapfree, appreciate if you do not post with "Capitalized letters".

Just recently got this unit. Been using it for a few days (I had been using eTrex and MobileXT for navigation for years), there are a few improvements Garmin can considering make into the next firmware:
1. 1 second track log recording.
2. Is there a way I can view the saved track log?
3. Enable to search ONLY favorites (waypoint from mapsource) more easier.
4. During navigation, make sure the vehicle does not "stick" to the road (eTrex can disable this).
5. Disable the auto zoom (I really hate that).
6. Enable map display detail to set at least, less, normal, more, most.
7. MFM POI seems missing during 3D navigation, MSM also same. Anyone experienced this?
8. Make the unit more "hands-free" e.g. when the bluetooth connected, the msg prompt will close by itself after 3 seconds without user clicking "OK"
10. Enhance the voice command to enable quick access to "mute" and some other menu item.

BTW, personally, the speaker, screen and TTS is superb. If you can afford it, it is a good buy. IT also comes with 4GB internal storage.

That is a valued input with great attention expressed to existing pitfalls we are all experiencing with current Nuvis.

Regarding yr point#4, I do think it is necessary to have "something" visible to show/indicate just precisely where one is during the route taken. Sometimes, with very tricky road conditions and near hazardous fork/split junctions, it can become harrowing but with the absence of the car icon, it can become very risky to contemplate and/or be involved in mishaps esp. with speeds and maneuvering on dangerous highways etc.

Point#6 I believe is somewhat insignificant which is why Garmin opted the basic setting to remain at Less & Most, correct me if I'm wrong on this. I usually don't have nor prefer any to help reduce cluttering the screen at whatever altitude it gets zoomed at.

Point#8 is a secondary safety that requires a physical confirmation and yes, it is a thad of a hassle but not all users are that handy and can go about appreciating what you suggested. I would but at times, on the safety aspect, and occasionally being fickle myself subject to road conditions and multitasking behind the wheel, that OK button is a safety issue which I think serve a better consideration to leave it on despite it being somewhat cumbersome.

Yup, on point#10, I would agree on that and wholehartedly brudder!!!

Bro Cruiser,
Thanks for agreeing with me on some of the points. I being an advanced user, do hope the Nuvi can have some customization or advance features because these features do exists in other non-Nuvi navigator (e.g. eTrex)
I believe the 3790 is one of the highest/advance range model so they should just make some changes (e.g. Simple Menu and Advance menu). It is technically like people JB their iphone to access to some advance features.
But generally as a car navigator, I am dead happy with the money invested. Even ebay is selling about the same like Malaysia.
