The verbal directions seem to be less now. It dosen't give the usual in 750m turn...and also no indication of distance to the next turn.

I have no Nuvi1460 to verify that the latest firmware actually causes that issue, but have you tried clearing all user data after the update (hold your finger on the lower-right corner of Nuvi screen while turning on Nuvi. Keep finger pressed until pop-up window appears. Touch Yes to clear all user data.)? However, do backup CURRENT.GPX first before proceeding.

How about the installed maps? Have you verified that only MFM mapset is enabled at Map Info?

Hi Everyone

When to KL & Malacca last week. This is my 2nd trip there. The reception is very bad in KL, many times it show no reception. A few times it occurs in Malacca too. So angry, many times being struck halfway on the road and wait for the set to receive reception, so frustrated.

I when to ‘NaviCom’ the agent to complaint after the previous trip. But they told there is nothing wrong with the set. Wonder what is wrong?
Has anyone experience this?

You all experts please advise!

Thanks in advance!

Bro Zuree gave good advise. Please check signal strength reception of your Nuvi. If you have window tint, your may need to cut a slot where your Nuvi is position or invest in a external antenna :-'

Hi Bro Zuree & Silverbeauty

Thanks very much for the advise!

During the time of 'lost reception' the signal strength is '0'.

Any idea to where can i get an external antenna?

One more thing i forgot to mention is when i use in JB, there isn't any 'lost reception'. Is there any other problem with my set?

If in Sin, you can buy it from EastGear http://www.eastgear.com/gps-navigation/ ... s.html?p=2

Reception is dependent on terrain. Tall buildings, trees, obstacles etc..... attenuate radio signals from satellite ....

I went to the website you recommended but didn't have the external antenna. Any other shop I can look for?

Thanks again!
