i already have CPOI v2.08 (30/03/10) files inside my mSD:\GARMIN\POI.
looking at the list of CPOI, SG speed cameras seems not included...

or did i miss something? :-k

I recopied the original files I backed up when I bought it new into the machine... Now I have just reverted back to Ver 2.60 and still waiting for something to happen from Garmin....

Sorry, I am sticking to my words - the NUVI1460 is a bleeding lemon and it still is!

Oh I forgot to expand on something else, I took my NUVI1460 and NUVI 265TW with me on a 4X4 trip to Thailand/Laos/China/North Vietnam recently. Put both the machines on 1 sec tracking. Tracked happily for about 12 days and one night was itchy enough to check Garmin.com.sg (all major hotels in China have free internet access now) and saw this new 2.70 ver firmware, downloaded it and immediately updated my NUVI1460. Happily continued the trip for the rest of the 1 month trip and just returned 1 week ago.

Now this is where the fun starts, I took both my machines, downloaded the track logs and saw the followings:

1. NUVI 265TW, all the 10,050km of 1sec tracks through Malaysia/Thailand/Laos/China/Vietnam were intact, no problems there, used the Wnutrak software, opened the tracks XXX.bin files converted to XXX.gpx files and I had a beautiful set of tracks for the whole trip.

2. NUVI1460
2.1 - All I saw were the 1 sec tracks done after I had updated the 2.70 firmware! The update had erased all my user data! In the past, it would have erased only the favorites (sometimes) and normal 10,000 bread crumbs [my old bitch issue that it shows only 500 bread crumbs now in the NUVI1460 instead of 10,000, still wondering why no one will take the trouble to sue Garmin for misleading advertising yet!]

This time it did not erase the 10,000 (non-1 sec tracks) INSIDE the machine, it collected them and placed them in an ARCHIVE file in the GPX sub-directory, so I still have the complete 10,050 km of normal non-1 sec tracks!! In the past the update will not erase the 1sec tracks, this time it did! (My mistake actually for not copying them out before the update so I deserved to loose the pre-2.70 firmware 1sec tracks!) I took what was left of the 1 sec tracks and tried to see them in Mapsource and I discovered a number of tracks (XXX.gpx files) could not be read as they were "either corrupted or in a format that will not be recognized by Mapsource"!!! Checked the storage surface and checked sectors, nothing wrong there.......

2.2 - While at it, I also copied the GPX files into my computer and deleted all the GPX files in the NUVI1460. I edited the GPX file in the computer (took out a lot of POIs I do not want anymore so I am left with what I need for use back in Malaysia). I then tried to copy the edited Current.GPX and Temp.GPX files back into the NUVI1460 and found I could not! The current.GPX and Temp.GPX files became empty and could not be changed with my new ones, it just stayed the blank except for the 3 Garmin in Taiwan and USA no matter what I did! Tried to download the POIs from the Mapsource, it said transferred but it did not. Tried the Garmin POI upload software, did not work either... So the only way that will work is to input manually one favorite at a time.. and I had about 600 favorite POIs!

2.3 - Got so fed up that after checking the internal memory storage (no glitches there) and still could not write back my edited Current.gpx files that I decided to re-install the firmware back to the day I bought the machine (See how desperate I get? I was prepared to even "brick" the unit now! But surprisingly, (the old firmware COULD be re-installed - did not happen on other units). I then re-formatted the whole internal memory and recopied all the old original files from the day I bought the machine, started it up and suddenly the old favorites (before I started the trip) came back on from somewhere, and I don't know from where? Now I have my old favorites, I can add new ones and delete those I don't want! I am now back on ver 2.60 firmware and I am not going to try anymore until I know what is going on....

If there is anyone who have similar experience on this 'phenomenon' please share it here.....

Signed - frustrated NUVI1460 user.....

cflai wrote:Hi,
I Did not realize that there is a version 2.80 firmware. If you were to check the update site now on http://www.Garmin.com.sg, the latest is still the ver 2.60. However, during mid of November, there was definitely a new firmware entitled Ver 2.70 that came out for a few days. I did download that and installed it (anyone wants to test the version 2.70, PM me and I can let you have it.) Then immediately after that the ver 2.70 disappeared and was replaced by the old 2.60.....

With the ver 2.70, I did notice that the stop button had reappear for the 1 sec tracking feature but the favorites recording could no longer write if transferred from the computer to the NUVI 1460...

In frustration, I had reverted to the version 2.30 (YES, you can revert the firmware, it even warned me that all user data will be erased!!!) I don't know where this can be found in the Garmin sg website for NUVI1460.

If you were to go to the NUVI1460 Mal/Sin software update site, it is now still the firmware 2.60 ver. check here http://www.garmin.com.sg/products/ontheroad/nuvi1460/#updateTab

It was 2.70 around mid Nov but has since been retracted for the NUVI1460 SG/MY ..... but the firmware update for NUVI 1350 SG/MY is ver 2.70, used to be the same but it is now not.... wonder why..

Bro Kopitiam

For the NUVI1460 SG/MY, I found the Ver 2.60 OK for whatever it was worth except for the STOP switch for 1 Sec tracks not appearing and the 500 bread crumbs only on screen plus whatever mentioned here in the Forums that Garmin are trying to resolve (including crackling voices and still minor uncontrollable floating map, slow routing recalculation, occasional switching off on its own, unable to handle MFM map under zooming (not their fault really, their machine is really meant for their maps, not 3rd party ones [sorry] etc, etc).

Have used it for a while since its update until ver 2.70 came along (where they put the STOP switch back on screen, redesigned Ecoroute, unable to rewrite GPX favorites, with most of the ver 2.60 faults still unresolved, they must have found it no good for the 1460, so they retracted it....

IMHO, stick to the latest update in their website (which is still 2.60, if they have retracted the ver 2.70 (it must be for a reason which I tried to guess in my previous paragraph....) then you also revert to ver 2.60 lor (fortunately can be reverted) ....until a new update comes along... and hold our patience meanwhile ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)
