other than the volume issue and no MFM's custom POI

in order to use JV function, we need to use the JCV file, City Navigator Sing/Mal right?
but the map is outdated. it doesn't even have, my favourite, DUKE highway. and to make matter worst, the map will simply become the default map once checked. overiding all other map :frus:

OR did i get it wrong regarding this map thing :-k

so, now I am only using MFM 1.63 only

i bought this new model from AECO

compared to my Nuvi 205W, i found that the internal speaker is very very soft. i can hardly hear the voice while driving even at 100%. with Nuvi 205W i always set my volume at 70% only.

anybody with the same problem?

thanks

Compared to Nuvi710, I'd say Nuvi765's 100% volume setting is about the same as Nuvi710's 90% volume setting.

If you find the navigation voice prompt volume is lower than that, maybe Navigation volume setting in the Mixer setting is set less than 100%.

thank dvpro,
now they are all at 100%. the volume is a tiny bit better but not with TTS. with TTS, very hard to hear what's being said.

need more testing i guess... :)

Malsingmaps NT map also supports JCV feature and it's way updated compared to the City Navigator map (although still not on par with MFM map  ). Current version is 2009.5 and DUKE is included too. For discussions on Malsingmaps map, pls do so at Malsingmaps forum.
City Navigator maps have higher read priority over MFM map, so if it's enabled, it will override the other map.

Mine 755T with 2.50 TWN also can show several custom POI icons, such as the RapidKL icon. But, how about others?

There is NO 'current road' name displayed on top of the 'Menu' during navigation

And most of the 3D buildings really compliment MFM building polygons, or is it the other way around?

But guess that apply for Malaysia maps only, right? Will I enjoy the same if I buy the local set from SG? How is the SLA Map? You have any idea?

3D building map is a standalone mapset in Nuvi (which can be enabled/disabled in Map Info page). I think it should work with any map, but I can try to simulate using SLA map to confirm. BTW, Nuvi765 Sg/My localized unit is sold in Singapore and Malaysia via authorized distributors/dealers.

Thanks, I have not hands on SLA Map personally so guess the map details will not be as much as MFM or MSM map. I saw the 3D building view posted in Page 2 of this thread on the new local set of 765, quite cool though.

I missed the speed of the drawing on 765 compared to the slow drawing in 760 so tempted to get a local set of 765 instead.
