Just a note on using the Nokia equivalent battery for the Nuvi 300. Managed to install the hand phone battery into the GPS and confirm it working. The problem is the battery thickness of 5.7mm (without insulation) is too thick for the Nuvi (original 5.2mm). It is just too close to the components for comfort. Will continue to look for suitable equivalent batteries ... The pictures show the dimension of the original battery.

Height ~59.0mm

Width ~33.4mm

Thickness ~5.2mm

If you know of any suitable batteries please let us know... cheers!

Wow, this is definitely a "professional" job!

After walking through the whole dis-assembly process, it seems the same procedures could be applied to most of the Nuvi for exchanging battery as the housing and internal compartment look alike. \:D/

Thanks for the great sharing.

Bro,

Thanks for the link. The 760 is so much simpler to open. Wait till you try your hands on a unit with the flip antenna....

P/S:- I'll never let the guy open my Nuvi.... he did not secure the battery when assembling it.... That's why I prefer to DIY... cheers!
