no need. you can transfer the generated gmapsupp.img to your sd card. Just make sure you tick the correct map in the setting section if you have more than one map in your device.

First of all, to those who lent a hand on my 765 problem: thank you very much for the support.:single_beer:

Secondly, my Garmin Nüvi765's fixed already! As some of you may be aware, I liaised with Garmin Taiwan and was almost about to send it to Taiwan for repair but an opportunity presented itself when I had to pass by Singapore to have my regular offshore medical checkup before heading for a project in Thailand. So, I left my 765 with Navicom and the following week after my short stint in Thailand, gave them a ring to follow up the status of my unit. Initially they said it's not yet fixed, but a couple of hours later, the tech called me up and says it's ready for pick up. I went there today and they showed me the unit (in GPS off mode, ofcourse) just to show that it's booting up again, etc. When I asked what was the problem, he said it's hard to explain. So I said, try me (didn't bother telling him what I do offshore anymore :p) and he managed to muster "The firmware crashed the system.". So I guessed when it got updated using the webupdater, or maybe dashboard (can't really remember) the updater pulled the firmware for the US--version 765. Dunno. As long as my 765's working now.

Lesson Learned: don't install blindly firmwares or atleast turn off autoupdate if it's available. :duh:

And -- thanks again to everyone.

PS: The guy also reckons I should not use Emily...:(

Hi Bahathir,

New firmware for Nuvi 765(TWN) is finally out. Can you make a clean rgn. service firmware of the latest (3.10)? Many thanks in advance.

Thank you.

I understand that Garmin has released the GTM 25 for selected Garmin nuvi devices, to receive real-time traffic situation updates (TMC-RDS).

The GTM 25 doesn't support the nuvi 765T. The GTM version for that is the GTM 21, according to several websites I checked including Garmin's own.

So my question is this --

1) Can the 765T available locally support TMC-RDS, or is a firmware update required that is not yet available?
2) Can we plug in the GTM 21 available from overseas, or is the FM band used different?
3) Will we need to purchase a subscription or is TMC-RDS available for free here?

Any 765 user still around?

Anybody noticed the TTS promnounciation of road name is getting from bad to worse recently? Anyone know of any fixes/solution? I'm on SG/MY version 2.50 firmware.

Still using mine. Don't notice any more degradation of pronounciation. Using Australian Karen TTS voice.

Hi all,

I have a US 765 V9 board with version 4.5 firmware. Loaded MFM maps but noticed that JCV is not working (blank screen).

Can I flash this set to SG/MY 2.5 firmware?
