When I reached home and went to the Garmin website to register, etc, I noticed this model is still not in Garmin's product lineup. Maybe it is a model specific to SE Asia. In any case I picked up the following from the Garmin Sg site:

Now in the process of setting up and relearning Nuvi again. Still very much a Garmin fan!

Bro jchoong, you finally come down from the mountain after such a long sabbathical.

But better late than never...

May I suggest that as part of relearning Nuvi, you go around the whole Singapore and improved on the capturing of the lane info and Junction View screenshots with this lovely Nuvi 2575RLM...

Thanks guys; am still in the process of downloading maps and uploading, etc. So many maps to choose from; trying out the voice recognition features, etc. And then today I picked up a Samsung S3 - dumping my 2 months old HTC One X because of its bootloader security; another diversion!

As for the 2575, Will have to do a lot of relearning from you Nuvi experts!

(Edit) BTW, if this thread is redundant (its a repackaged 2575R), please delete it.

This evening I went to SengKang for an appointment. So, I thought I would give the 2575 a test run. Of the few maps preloaded, I only selected MFM2012.10. I had no problems finding the destination, but when I took off, I found the voice navigation was limited to telling you to follow the route in purple. There was no turn-by-turn guidance. I stopped to check and verified that all my settings were good. Then I unchecked MFM2012.10 and ticked the MFM-Garmin 120528 map plus POIs, and voice navigation returned to normal. Don't understand at all.

Been using the MFM2012.10 since its released on both my 3790 and 765 with no problems in Sin and Mal.
Voice Navigation with turn by turn assistance and Junction View all works

Try re-download a fresh copy from Garmin Sin and replace file in your Nuvi
It is stored in main memory/system under file name gmapprom1.img ( please backup before doing anything )
By default, this directory /system is hidden by windows.

That was what I did earlier - downloading from Garmin Spore and then replacing it on the /system dir. OK, will download again and redo. Thanks my friend.

I screwed up on the update so went to Garmin Spore today and they did the maps update for me. Then I learned something new from them.

There are 3 maps preloaded - MFM, MSM_NT, and Navteg. What I did earlier was just to enable the MFM map (I thought it is incorrect to enable all 3 maps) and that is the reason why there was no turn-by-turn navigation. You need to enable all 3 maps to get the turn-by-turn navigation. Also, using these maps, postal code search is a piece of cake.

I don't really need to install the normal MFM maps from this forum onto a external SD card - unless I want the most updated MFM map.

Am getting there; a slow relearning process.

I installed the complete setup onto my wife's ride. Nice actually; and the camera recorder works well (my first experience). Still toying around with it.
