Try hard resetting. First of all, before performing hard reset, back up CURRENT.GPX from ..\Garmin\GPX folder. After successful reset, rename backed up CURRENT.GPX to TEMP.GPX and place it in ..\Garmin\GPX folder (same folder that contains CURRENT.GPX).

To perform hard reset (clear all user data), turn off Nuvi. Then press and hold lower right corner of Nuvi's screen, and while still holding the screen with your finger, turn on Nuvi, and continue to hold (the screen) further until you get the prompt to clear all user data, select Yes. Then Nuvi will boot like the first time you had it purchased.

Note: It's advisable to perform hard reset especially after a firmware update. And after hard resetting Nuvi, it's advisable to let Nuvi gather satellite data outdoors and stationary, until GPS fix is obtained.

Hi

sorry for this dumb question but if we buy the nuvi 1460 now, we shouldn't have to upgrade the firmware as it should have latest firmware right?

i just bought it last night and compared side to side with my nuvi 255w. (the 1460 is for my dad's birthday coming up). noted some differences and had feedbacked to the aeco guy. waiting to hear from him.

i've read in a different thread that nuvi 1460 owners encoutering problem with their units, their units reboot suddenly or can't show mfm maps. my unit have not acted up on me but granted i have yet to explore it extensively plan to test it day and night until i figure out it is okay to give to my dad.

but the 5 in screen sure has distinct advantage when it comes to displaying maps, JV and lane assists.

With electronic device no guarantee that what you bought was part of old batch or new batch when a new firmware is released ..... :-'
