Bro Silver, do you mean if the polygons are excluded when generating the map, the roads would be visible?

bro dvpro, I had tried all means, with / without polygons, Mapsource transfer etc.... roads still get hidden behind polygons. It does not happen on all parts of Sin/Mal map but on portions of major cities only. Routing still works.

See screen shots examples of major cities ... Sin, Johor, Melaka, Penang ....

Furthermore, screen refresh rate crawlssssssssssssssss :fire:

Until there is a firmware fix, I gave up using CGS generated / third party maps on my 3790T and restrict it to default factory loaded Garmin NT and MSM NT generated maps :(

For third party maps, I relegated myself to my trusty 765

Bro Silver, if you have time, please test this map: SgJhrSeaPoly.zip (server space courtesy of Bro Shawchyn).

It's basically a Mapsource generated Sg/Johor map with only water polygons included (modded TYP).

Bro dvpro, tried.

Do not see any improvements. :(

Thanks for the test. Looks like the problem is not with the polygons. :-k

I suspect it is the firmware that is the cause ](*,)

The million dollar question, is will Garmin do anything about this :-k

So users of 3790T, please do not "divorce" your trusty old unit yet if you want to use third party non NT maps not compiled by Garmin NT :-'

Here is a respond from Garmin on the 37xx Nuvi inability to display properly "third party" compiled maps :

QUOTE :

For third party's map, I have to say sorry to you. Basically, those their parties will find their own map compiler for building Garmin-format map. However, since we applied a high resolution display and improved our map drawing algorithm for nuvi37xx series, we may not be able to guarantee all of their maps are compatible with our new models. If it is necessary, please kindly ask this user to purchase the maps we officially released for each region. Highly appreciate your understanding.

This would be my response to Garmin :

Dear Garmin,
For Official map in our region,We have to say sorry to you. Basically, most people don't use that map as we have a better detailed and improved map. We may not be able to guarantee our continue support to purchase your new models. If it is necessary, please editedthis region. Highly appreciate your understanding.
