all of the above only cost me RM88 only

if you are not confident to replace the LCD by your self you can send it to garmin that cost Rm450 and take 1 month to repair. now i can enjoy my nuvi :peace:

ps the lcd is a bit defact with 1 green line, call the seller they agree to replace

Bro tlchuan,

Nice.... a good DIY write up with pictures (that tells a 1000 words  )

By the way, is the white rectangular item with barcode the battery of the Nuvi? Wonder if it can be purchase outside if ours ever got depleted beyond repair.

Yes, that is the battery. Here is a YouTube video on how to replace it

Battery, google and you will find may sites that sells it
example : http://www.amazon.com/Battery-Replaceme ... B003V32C2C

If I am not wrong, if you search SLS, you can find Nokia phone battery with same form-fit and electrical specs :-k

dear bro

thanks for sharing with us this useful tips.

as it so happened, i sent my 255W to aeco to replace the screen for me (frankly even though you gave excellent guide on how to DIY screen replacement i wasn't that confident of winging it on my own). they did a good job. however they didn't take a month to replace the screen. it was a few days because i asked them to take their time and to do a thorough check-up on my unit after replacement. very good service by aeco staff.

however i can't vouch or comment if a member's unit is sent to aeco via a third party reseller (authorised or otherwise).

just want to share my experience.

have a great day and week ahead.
