Hi bro Chee Loong,

Of this I am not sure. Logically, the patch should update your firmware to v5.00 if it is older but it could also mean that it will only work on units that are already updated to v5.00. Bro WeiQi00 who has done it can confirm whether he started with his firmware as v5.00. If you are not patient to wait for an answer, the best thing to do is update your firmware to v5.00 first then apply the patch. This I am sure will work as I have done it.

finally my nuvi 200w got traclog feature ..but i wonder why time is go back to 8.10 am (morning) and date 1 april 2007...any idea...try to set time to jakarta/12 hour format but no use..if i do a hard reset, the track log feature will be deleted?

Well done, bro zuree, congratulations.

I did not have any issue with date and time as it was not affected by the patch. I have not read about this issue in other forums either. Although I don't think a reset can change the firmware's features but instead of taking that risk, why don't you try to set the time through the settings menu using 24 hour clock if you used 12 hour format before or choose a different time zone then later change back? I would not worry too much about the time if that is the only problem but I guess we all want our units to work perfectly don't we? Good luck.

I am just guessing what you meant.

If your firmware was already v5.00 and you tried to downgrade it to v3.40, it will definitely not work. I tried it before and even though the update was said to be 'completed successfully', my firmware remained as v5.00. This is well documented because Garmin has intentionally not allowed any firmware higher than v3.40 be downgraded to v3.40 to deny you the use of this hidden feature. That is why efforts were made to patch the v5.00 firmware to make this hidden tracklog feature available again without having to downgrade the firmware to v3.40. Did I get you right?

ok here what i do.

1.identify your HW id = connect gps --->open garmin xml file = mine 0737

2.download the right patch--->0737 for nuvi 200w

3.extract the files into a newfolder(name it whatever) = 3 files : 073701000400.rgn, Updater.exe and readme.txt)

4.on ur nuvi 200w--->tap on battery icon

5.then connect nuvi to pc via usb cable--->until your pc recognise ur nuvi.

5.click on updater.exe ---> select "USB"

6.Wait until done.

7.detach usb cable and restart ur nuvi---> tap on speedometer--->tab for start recording appear on screen.
