Bro,

Did you try None for customization as per recommendation from antyong? You have to reinstall into mapsource and choose to create Gmapsupp.img and than select None. Copy aqnd use the Gmapsupp.img inside the C:\Malfreemaps folder. I have version 1.03 & 1.10 if you want to try.... cheers!

Newbie to the forum here. Been using my Nuvi 300 for quite some time since it was bought in Germany back in 2007, but still newbie towards all these mapping activities. As far as I go, I can use GPS only laa  .

No problem with auto-shutdowns so far after loading up MFM maps... As compared to China Nuvi, mine cannot install other languages such as Hokkien. Anyone got any feedback on this?

:rox:

Your German set is most likely from Garmin UK, like mine I have no problem running the latest maps. Only the China Nuvi v2.10 faces the shutdown problem.

For voices you can use Webupdater to update your GPS. You have to download the Webupdater program from Garmin. Follow the on screen instructions to install and run Webupdater.

Hope this helps... cheers!

Normally i wud install the file and select :-

a. Original Roads (For Streetpilots & Nuvis & MobileXT)
Customization : selected none

Result : No autoshutdown but no POI icons as well.

Does that mean now instead of selecting (a) i have to select :-

b. Full Customization (Recommended for Mapsource display)?

Per bro antyong recommendation we are to use None for customization during the auto Gmapsupp.img generation during installation. There are two parts during installation of MFM maps. First selection is for Mapsource display. Normally I select for Mapsource.

Let's do these evaluations to see if the results are different.

Eval 1
- Select Original Roads (For Streetpilots & Nuvis & MobileXT)
- Yes to Gmapsupp.img generation.
- Select None and uncheck For Garmin QUE, Road POI & Road Label
- Generate map.
Test result = _____________

Eval 2
- Select For Mapsource View
- Yes to Gmapsupp.img generation.
- Select None and uncheck For Garmin QUE, Road POI & Road Label
- Generate map.
Test result = _____________

Eval 3
- Select Original Roads (For Streetpilots & Nuvis & MobileXT)
- Yes to Gmapsupp.img generation.
- Select None and check Road POI & Road Label
- Generate map.
Test result = _____________

Eval 4
- Select For Mapsource View
- Yes to Gmapsupp.img generation.
- Select None and check Road POI & Road Label
- Generate map.
Test result = _____________

Your help on this matter is very much appreciated. If you have problem understanding the procedure I can meet this weekend to run the evaluation together.

Will PM my contact number to ease communication.... cheers!

Looks like the auto shutdown problem occurs when "Custom POI only" is selected. When "None" is selected, the POI icons are not displayed which pretty much removes the most "fun" feature of this map. :(

Wow! bro Duckstormz,

Thank you.... :prayer: ... good job. Now we have some clues to the problem. Hope Bro antyong is able diagnose the graphic layering to resolve it.

Bro antyong,
On behalf of China Nuvi users please help them to relive the glory of using MFM maps with its full features.... Thank you... :tq:

Cheers!
