Nuvi 40 Boot Loop

Postby gtx3r » Mon Dec 31, 2012 8:30 am

Have tried the solution for the device here http://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/case.faces?caseId={4a78cf80-fce4-11e1-e8a7-000000000000}

Is there any guide how to format internal memory? I still have the original files and data

Thank You

the problem is, whenever I plugin the device to the computer, it remain boot loops too. If it could only detect in the computer, maybe I could restore the original files.

So whats your opinion?

The symptom u mentioned is indicative of a corrupt map file, which is why we always suggest a newbie not to mess around with data in main memory. If under warranty take it back to dealer for fix at Garmin.

The only thing I did was, rename "Arabic.gtt" to "Arabic.glx", and transfer it from Nuvi 225W to Nuvi40 in the "Text" folder.

So if the boot loop happens, is there any way to access the storage system?

Where do you send it for warranty?
