Re: Garmin 1460 and GPX Track

Thanks for the suggestion.

I remember if the old model of Nuvis eg 660, I can export the whole route to the Garmin device and follow the route using Mapsource, is this option available for 1460? Or POI is the only way to go?

FYI, the 1460 does not show (many) POIs while navigation, unlike the 2xx models. It is not a problem with the 1460, it is just its 'new' features. ](*,)

seriously i dun know what is the 1-sec track log, and nvr use it.

but upgraded to v2.80, i must say excellent in terms of performance up to now.
and i think they solve the prob of the usb cable....

last time need to on the 1460 first, then plug in cable then it will go to the usb mode in pc...now no need already, when the 1460 is not on, plug in usb cable, it will auto switch to usb mode in pc.

I am still on v2.40 which does not limit the track length and has the STOP button. As Bro Zamad mentioned, you will need the 1-sec tracking feature to record tracks of untracked areas and submit to make MFM maps better otherwise you remain as a passenger while it is a lot more exciting to be a driver sometimes.

Moral of the story, if your GPS is functioning well and you are happy, DO NOT UPDATE unless the update offers your features that you currently do not have.

I tested the v2.70 it merely presents a different user interface for Ecoroute and does not enhance the way I use my GPS so I reverted back to v2.40 which is so far the best for me.

With v2.40, plugging in the USB cable while the GPS is OFF, I get immediate PC mode. With v2.70, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't so to save time I have to boot up the GPS first.

Hi Bro
I had accidently upgrade to the latest version. Can you tell me how to downgrade back to v2.40 please.
Thanks very much!

You need to get the xxx firmware installer version that you want to revert back to. It is somewhere in one of the post of this thread :-'

Should have no problem using MFM map. Just download the installer, run it and generate the map file and load it into SD card/map directory

Hi guys,

I just got myself a 1460. I manage to load the latest MFM map, but somehow it doesn't show the road name. The road name actually exist in the system, because when I browse the map and move the mouse cursor on the road, it pops up the name. And the second thing is, Point of Interest actually contains road name and stuff, which makes things very cluttered (on my phone Garmin XT, then road name under address, but some older ver map).

Ok this is my installation method, please tell me if I got anything wrong:
1. install the MFM exe file
2. Select custom polygon only. Continue
3. Select Include Business POI. Include Road POI. Enable Custom Icon Display.
4. Generate GMAPSUPP
5. I create a \MAP directory in SD card, and dump the GMAPSUPP inside
6. Boot up Garmin, go into Tools > Setting > Map > Info
7. I disabled all the vendor provided file (MSM, some thailand, china map)
8. Only active map is MFM Garmin 110221 and MFM POI 110221
9. Reboot device also same issue.

Anything else for me to check?
