thinking to replace my 765, is it good?

Just got the Nuvi 4592LM SG/MY Aeco set today, some quick review about this unit:

1. The overall unit weight is heavier & thicker than my old 3790.

2. I like the magnetic suction mount, very easy to operate. However the unit gold fingers is located expose at back side of the unit where you can easily touch it, hope it can stand away for corrosion.

3. Screen viewing angle is good at 3 corner except bottom, not sure why.

4. Power button is located at top left corner same level as the case, will need sometimes to get familiar with that location.

5. MicroSD card slot is located at mid-bottom edge, dislike it as the card is protruding out about 2mm.

6. Screen color is typical of TFT.

7. UI response is very fast, same feel like you using an android phone.

8. The Download Center (via Wifi) is kind of buggy, it keep pop up the software update in notification bar even i have tried install numerous time.

9. You need to complete the software update before update map in Download center. So with the bug mention in (9), i never get to update latest map via wifi. But still can update via PC updater

10. Even it is android device, it does not come pre-install with Google Play Store.

11. Import of old device Favourite is easy: Copy the current.gpx file from old device, rename to another filename.gpx, copy the rename gpx to internal memory/GPX, restart the unit.

12. Voice Command successful rate is as challenging as my old 3790, at least to me :)

Will update again once try out the navigation...

Hi Bro, I just bought this too. My first GPS. I got problem with item (9) too. I tried to use PC update (by following the instruction from http://www.garmin.com.sg/mapupdate/) it doesn't work. Although it mentioned update successfully completed and request to restart. There is no restart button. So I used to Power OFF and then ON again. Checked and found still same OS version 3.4 instead of 4.0 as mentioned on the website. Goto download centre on the GPS unit, prompt to update the software first before map updates...

Check if the local distributor sticker is at the back of the unit.

Hi,

Did you all manage to resolve the update bug? I'm getting the same problem too. Btw, what's the latest software version. Mine's at 3.40.

Also, I'm getting this cannot unlock map notification when i on my device. I can't see my southeast asia maps ...

Do you have any idea?
