I think your battery is bad.

Bro Fancheng's suggestion to DIY is good.

I am also interested to know where you can buy a battery that fits the space available. Please share the info when you have found one.

My battery is fine but if I can change it to a higher capacity one so that my battery life can be extended to more than 5 hours, I will be interested. I am sure if I shop for it in Shenzhen I can find one of higher capacity but in Malaysia or Singapore? That may be tough.

I took it out just now.. its around 58mm x 38mm x 4mm
3.7V 1.25Ah

Anyway i found the battery..

Dear Bro comeonesticks,

Thanks for the link to the battery supplier. Good info to have for those who need to replace their batteries.

As I said, I am looking for a higher capacity than standard so the 1600mAh battery for the iQue looks promising or better still, the 1800mAh BAT-00011-01-A. Unfortunately the site does not disclose dimensions so I have no clue whether it would fit into the space.

Perhaps you can ask them when you place your order? :-'

They don't provide dimensions.. thats the bad thing

Very hard to answer your question when the charging rate is not known. On the basis of a good USB connection from a lappy, it should be done in less than 4 hours (even from LOW BATTERY indication) if charging in the Diagnostic Mode otherwise you should suspect something wrong with the battery. In the Data Mode (when you see the computer icon on the GPS screen) it may take longer though I don't know how much longer as there is no way to know when the battery is fully charged. An external charger may complete the job in a slightly shorter time.

Hey Jason, thanks for the heads up. As suggested, I charged my battery in diagnostic mode to know more, using an external charger as opposed to an in-car charger. I believe that it took about 4-5 hours but I didn't really keep track of it. I charged the battery until the diagnostics stated that it was 'done'. After unplugging the unit from the charger, VMAX was only 4.02. Looks like I do have a poor battery here and it needs to be changed pretty soon. Once again, thanks for the pointers.

:ko: Nuvi205W recently discover lots of thin blue lines on top of the usual maps routing. Wonder if GPS is corrupted.

What it is meaning when the unit is displaying DPPM Reg when charging the battery via the computer USB port?

What it is meaning when the unit is displaying between DPPM Reg and Charging?

All these times, the voltage is about 4.5V
Thanks.

hi bros..

anybody encounter such problem ever since they install malfreemap or update version software ?

i realise that my 205w dun calculate distance for me before making a turn anymore.. previously they will countdown the distance such as 200m before left turn etc.. nowadays nth..

can someone advise me on how to bring back that feature? without it, i find it very hard to anticipate on when to make a turn ..

thanks
