i juz bought this during the recent Sitex. I am trying to locate the 2 preinstalled maps plus the base map in it but find none. i read somewhere that gmapprom and gmapprom1 are pre-installed maps. i have since send maps from mapsource to my nuvi and renamed them the above 2 and yet my pre-installed maps still exist?! so where is the pre-installed maps located??

btw, is there any ways that we can actually move files from micro sd to the unit in the unit itself rather than to use a computer to do that?

You need tp plug in your Device into the PC for the transfer.

out of the box, i cant find any .img file. when i transferred a map from mapsource to unit, it automatically create a folder called "Map" and put the newly transferred gmapsupp.img file there. i transferred 4 maps and renamed them gmapprom, gmapprom1, gmapoem and gmapsup2 and all 4 shown in the device plus the 2 pre-installed mapsets. so, i am puzzled as to where those 2 pre-installed map files located since i cant even find them. and yet when i renamed my maps as gmapprom and gmapprom1, it still does not intefere with the pre-installed maps. so it really is puzzling to me. this means, i cant even delete the pre-installed maps?

I think Map files are stored in /.System folder.

In address bar, type /.system to see the folder.

I had 2 question about this nuvi1350, i am planing to buy it.
1. How many map can Nuvi1350(etc, garmin mobile can load 5 map in one time) supported?

2. Is the junction view inside the preloaded map? or is in a diffrent file name?

Sorry for my noob question, hope all sifu here can help me.

The unit has to be in routing mode in order for it to give direction assistance.

MainMenu - WhereTo - choose ADDRESS or SPELL Name or Point of Interest or Favourite and then hit GO

Wah.. i missed this thread.

Yesterday, I tried to load a map into my friend's 1350 but I could not find any map files in the Garmin folder at all. There were two pre-installed maps, I think one from Garmin MSM and the other City Navigator, but as I did not know their file names, I did not dare to copy any more maps into the device.

So, it is confirmed that the maps are not in their usual location. If I just create a folder "Map" in the device, and copy the further map files there, will it work?
