:tq: for sharing indeed Bro Edchuang. I have also inquired AECO last month but was told that there's no further update to the 2.0 version!

Having experienced 205W as my 1st Nuvi unit (which was quite commendable), I am expecting far better performance from a higher end model such as 760. Yes the unit does come with faster satellite signal, TTS and other additional features to compare with 205W but I think the refresh screen rate is rather poor and I ended up having to zoom out (200m or -2, hence POI not visible) in order not to miss the next junction when navigating.
If I set the unit at 80m (or +/- 0), I always find my car already pass the junction yet the unit shows its still ahead of my car :fire: . Honestly, not sure whether it's because of the unit/older generation processor (as with 200 series), or because of the firmware (even with 2.10) which is far behind 4.20 (2nd Oct 2008) now available for 760 US version.

... me contemplating of replacing this 760 with the latest 765T ( #-o last straw!) having read through many reviews praising it for new faster processor, faster routing calculations and faster map drawing, apart from new features of 3D building (map-dependent?) and lane assist. Appreciate our experts views on this... Thanks

Hi miju,

According to AECO, the firmware 2.10: It synchronize to English v4.00 to improve the speech and has improved the map display.

Bro Kelvin5353 had noticed improvement on FM transmission. I noticed that the refresh rate is slightly improve.

Not sure about 765T, better have actual unit test before you spend the big :$gone: :$gone: :$gone:

Thanks again bro, very good piece of advice certainly!

At the moment, I could not find any noticeable improvement yet, but will try it out again with the new gps firmware 2.80 (replacing 2.60), which now available through WebUpdater.

Sorry can't really recall, but I guess must be for the unit or 7xx series. What I did was hook the unit to the USB sync cable, run the webupdater, result: no new update for software version 2.10 (nuvi 760 Sing/Mal), clicked next for other updates and found this new GPS firmware update to 2.80. I would say it is new because was not there when I checked last week.

Tried it out since yesterday and from KL-Shah Alam-KL this morning; and observed:

- Retrieving sat signal a bit longer than usual during start-up. Subsequent use: normal
- Satellite signal remains OK when passing through KLCC tunnel to Jln Tun Razak. Prior to the update, signal lost and average speed display shown illogical figures e.g. 500+ km/h.

Need to test it out further to really see what are the improvement(s) made over the previous firmware, but apparently no conflict/system crash thus far... (hopefully not certainly).

Please backup your original GUPDATE.GCD first before the above process. I had update the above for my Nuvi760 and it working fine with firmware version2.10.
