There are just far too many choices, first of all you need to state what you want this device for. trekking, automobile, fitness, etc etc

suggest you read the first post which summarise a few devices

viewtopic.php?p=85739#p85739

last decision is where to buy, as long as you have a budget, there are many ways to get a unit.

Another good way to find out more, attend a GG. You stay in Ipoh, you shouldn't miss this MEGA one by ronchan

Suggest me a Garmin

Postby dzi921 » Fri Nov 26, 2010 8:02 am

I am planning to go down Lowyat today to buy a Garmin for my car. In a hurry to get it, so couldn't do research.

Can someone point me a direction of which model to get. My budget is under RM1,000 to max of RM1,500.

My requirement will be:-
-Must be able to use malfreemaps and can be updated
-To be used for car driving navigation
-Functionality no need so hightech as long as good as Garmin Mobile (for Windows mobile) will do.

Taipkan nuvi 255w. Saya sendiri telah beli kat situ. Alhamdulillah pakai hingga sekarang. :peace:

One notch lower than the 255W is the 205W. It is similar to the 255, but without TTS. Due to the size of the current mfm map, a slight lag is noticeable.... but I'm still happy with it and use it as my backup tracklog buddy.

Lost touch with gps model available

Postby endura » Sun Dec 26, 2010 10:15 am

Hi,

I am looking for an outdoor Garmin Gps. Preferably handheld type. I do scuba diving too. Is there a water proof model?

Any recommendation?

hmm guys...

Am considering getting a Papago. I came across another device called Wayway which carries the Papago software.
May I know what is the difference between the Papago and the Wayway hardware?
Which one is more reliable/fast/value-for-money/better touchscreen/better screen resolution?

Thanks in advance!
