Garmin Mobile XT V5.00.20 for Symbian S60 3rd Edition

bro fisol2, i have also just installed garmin xt 5.00.20 in my E71. Would like to know how long it takes for ur unit to lock onto satellite? I tried last night and this morning but i just can't seem to lock on to any satellites. Garmin kept on showing 'no map' only.

I m starting to wonder if my GPS chip got problem. But i read from other forum that 1st time locking to satellite needs around 5 mins. I m not sure if i've waited that long. Maybe around 3mins and i gave up already. I will try again later, just needed ur feedback on ur lock-on times.

I don't use an E71 but I have helped my brother to install 5.00.20 in his E71 twice. Second time because he upgraded his firmware.

From my experience, it should take less than a minute for a full lock without AGPS enabled, in the house too... ... I know it sound crazy because my WM6.1 devices takes at least 1 minute itself, which is not bad already and it cannot lock on within short period on 2 different firmwares I believe...

Thanks for the reply. I tried last nite and have to go all the way outside my gate to get a lock on. It started slow with 1 sat, then 4 sat then all of a sudden 8 sat detected but not locked on. Then finally after a long time i got 4 sat locked on and then 8 and then 10. hehehe. Worth the wait :p

Then i tried to exit garmin xt and open again. This time sat lock was very fast, even inside house oso can get.

This morning in the car i can't get a lock on after waiting for 3 mins, finally rolled down the window and got a weak lock on for 4 sats, closed the window and signal lost after some time. Im gonna try later to get a lock on to as many sats as possible be getting into the car and see if it helps

Solar films on the windscreen will certainly affect satellite signals.
Which model of phone are you using? I ask b'cos the N85 I bought for my wife needed a "minor operation" to improve on the reception - a little C-shaped contact wan't touching the back cover of the phone! Before the adjustment, locking on to satellite was almost impossible After the operation, lock on is within seconds!

AGPS = "Astro GPS"

i thing so because his house has Astro to receive all the signal from satellite

Maybe this is not a bad idea..

1/ Somebody can help me to use My GPS device in my N6110 navigator with Garmin XT 5.00.20 (not instaled yet) i'm waiting your confirmation to know if this version can work

2/ Can i use the map (Garmin Asia Pacific 2008 (APAC v2) - UNLOCKED**found on dotsis.com ***) that include thailand/Jakarta and HK With this version? If yes how to install/copy succesful?

3/ How to instal different linguage/special car design(icon) in G. XT?

My 6110 is uptdate with the last firmware (i have download and instal directly with PC suite fews days ago)

gmxt 5.00.20 works fine on 6110.. but either u buy from garmin or revert to the dark side..

Hello bro's all round, I need u guys to assist me Already install Garmin XT in my N76 with external gps receiver. How do I get the speed trap.gpi warning with voice,presently I only get the warning tone?I also confuse to install the gpi( wav) or gpi(mp3).Anyone can help me please!
