Hi Sifus - I am not able to find the solution in the FAQ and need your help. I have saved some of my favourite POIs to my "Save To My Locations" of GMXT, and would like to back these up. Please let me know what is the file name and where does this file resides, ie., in the device or the SD Card. I know you Sifus will have the answer and I want to thank you all in advance. :D

Bro dvpro - many thanks for your kind assistance. Yes, I found it using ActiveSync the file GARMIN_WPT.NVM. Howver, I also notice there is another file by the name of GARMIN.NVM. Wonder what file is that? Is it the original POIs file? Just wondering... :-'

GARMIN.NVM contains GMXT settings and last GPS fix. If this file is deleted, GMXT would start fresh just like the first time it was installed.

I think you should be asking how to use the map at a certain location although you are not currently near that location. This is referred to as simulating a GPS location. To enable simulation mode in GMXT, first you need to select "Disable" at Remote GPS page (shortcut: at main interface, select GPS signal icon at top left). Then select "GPS Info > New Location". Next, you need to browse and use zoom feature to find the location to simulate. Finally, place the arrow on the location to be simulated and select "OK". From then on, the GPS is used as if it is at the simulated location.

However, if you'd simply like to view the map of a certain area, there are a few methods to do this:
1. Use City search if you know the city or if it's listed in the map. Then select "Map". Thereafter you need to zoom in and browse for the location. OR
2. Get into Browse Map mode, and use zoom feature and browse for the location.

If is to view the map, why not? I can see Paris when I am in KL on my Nuvi.

View out by pressing the the "-" (-ve) sign to blow out th map until you can see the whole of Malaysia and then press on the area in Sarawak that you want to view. Zoom back in by pressing the "+" sign. Use you fingers to pan the map.

Come on, I am sure you can do the above all by yourself without asking here.
