Bro dvpro, does the version of windows have any effect on the errors eg winxp, vista or win7? also sequence in installing i.e. install GMPC, followed by mapsource then the mapsets have any effect?

Would un-installing both GMPC and mapsource totally and the maps i.e. both programs together with going into registry to remove traces of both softwares and then re-installing again the softwares again solve his problem.

Bro kopi, did your GMPC work without problem before? if yes, can you remember what you had installed leading to getting the error / message?

Stay tune! Saw this good news which i also encountered the crashing =D>

Re: Garmin Mobile PC 5.00.70 randomly crashing while driving
I spoke with Garmin's tech support this morning about the new update crashing. They are aware of the issue and have duplicated in-house. So, they know what's causing it. They said they were already working on a new update for it, which should be out soon because it is a major problem.

Anyone knows why i can't change the installation path. It wants to install it to my D: by default and says i have the option to choose other destination by pressing " browse " but the browse button is not clickable and its grey. Reason for this is because GMPC is really slow in calculating routes. I have a short route and running GMPC and nRoute side by side. nRoute takes a split second to calculate the route and GMPC will take a few mins to do the same route. I really not sure what's wrong. I've tried uninstalling all Garmin programmes on my laptop and installed only GMPC with mfm maps. But it keeps wanting to install to d:. Help.

Are you running the installer from D: drive? If yes, try copying the installer to C: drive.

or verify if d: drive is where your root directory is located. It sometimes happens that your root directory is located at D: and C: drive is used for something else. By right all GARMIN programs like GMPC and mapsource are installed at the root directory.

by default mfm maps are installed at the root directory under X:\Garmin\malfreemaps (where x is the root directory).

When you start the installer for the mfm maps, where is the default directory?
