Hi All,
Does anyone know why Garmin Singapore removed the V2.70 firmware update from their website? I visited the very same website that I downloaded the v2.70 today but all I can see now is only v2.60? Not sure why and hence this question.
Thanks and regards.

v2.70 firmwares are still there...Most likely the cache issue again. Based on my limited understanding of the web hosting of Garmin, there is reverse caching on their hosting end and it always 'act up' once awhile. This is not the first time. Sometimes refresh/reload the page or repeated going back and forward a few times would resolve it. Sometimes just wait a few hours.
Re: Converting Nuvi 255W US Firmware to MAL/SIN Firmware
Just checked it is back to v2.70 now.
I think garmin should try resolve this issue. Else it caused confusion or in my case, I was worried they found some issue with the later version, thus reverting to older v2.60.
This download link always work though. For future upgrade just change the version number.
http://download.garmin.com/sg/download/SG_SW_UPGRADE/nuvi255W_SG_v270.exe
You can try using the download link rather than the erratic Garmin webpage for the maps as well. For example
NT map
http://download.garmin.com/sg/download/MapUpgrade/SgMyMal_2009_05_v220.exe
CNNT map
http://download.garmin.com/sg/download/MapUpgrade/SgMyTA_2009_04_v2.exe

Re: Converting Nuvi 255W US Firmware to MAL/SIN Firmware
Hi guys,
This may not be the appropriate section to post this, but it seems a lot of gurus are here. I have a Nuvi 205 unit with HWID of 0927. I believe it is the localized SG/MY version. I find nothing beneficial of this version. In fact I'd really want to have the "English British" voice but it is apparently not compatible. Is there anyway to re-flash this unit to a US or EU version where British voice is recognized ? Thanks!

and Garmin/Text/ because Sing/Mal firmware Not recognized some Voice file and Text file initial from your Nuvi.
Disconnect Nuvi with PC.
-Switch on nuvi.
-Press & hold battery icon until dignostics mode
-plug miniUSB into nuvi, connect with pc
-download file above unzip
-run updater.exe
-tick usb option
-click OK.
-Click OK
-Wait and Done.
-Enjoy JCV.
Hi, I've followed the steps above. But got stuck at the USB option, please kindly furnish me ktan.
I insert the USB port and nothing happened, when I click "OK", it prompted "No USB port detected". Can you help? I'm using 255w TW. Where I've renamed it to "932....". Thanks in advance..!

Just to share my experience... You will need to install the webupdater from the Garmin website so that it will install the relevant drivers. I used to have the same problem also but it was solved after installing webupdater.
This firmware flash is sort of like recovery mode that's why you need to install webupdater. I'm not sure if changing the .rgn file name is relevant since I did not change it when flashing.

Reverting is possible, but not sure if Garmin can detect that the unit had been previously force-flashed.

I take everything in moderation, including moderation.
