Garmin Mapsource 6.15.4

Found the thread in MSM. I've tried reinstalling it back to 6.13.7, then to 6.13.6, but that didn't work. Apparently I've not gone far enough. I need reinstall 6.13.5... which, unfortunately I do not have. Any clues or lead where it is still available?

Still the same problem on 6.1.3.5 version even upgrade to 6.1.3.7, problem solve if using 6.14.1 but refresh rate is too slow

I made a mess just now trying to re-install Mapsource. Rolling back to earlier 'restore points' didn't work either! This is what I learnt: Start by re-installing v6.13.5, then update to v6.13.6. This is where you should stop. Updating to v6.13.7 brings back the corrupted icons! Version 6.14.1 looks graphically better but the refresh rate stinks!

Noticed that after uninstall previous Mapsource version. There's still traces of Mapsource information in the registries.

I would remove all Mapsource registry entries in :

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Garmin
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Garmin

After that, install newer version of Mapsource (shown in MSM WiKi).
But would need to re-install all the map/s previously installed.

After readindg the message from bro tlchuan, now I understand why the icons looks corrputed. I thought that the map tile is corrupted.So i now i undertsand that it is got to do with Mapsource version 6.13.7.

Is there any way, the mapsource can be tweeked?

The best solution. Tested and worked on FIND problem issue in mapsource.

1. Uninstall all garmin software including MFM, MSM and other original garmin mapset.

2. go START > RUN > type 'regedit' > search for 'Garmin' in HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Right click on Garmin and delete.

3. Run CCleaner

4. Restart your PC and download all over again.

p/s: If you dont get it right and the problem still occurs, you must have done something wrong during the process.

i'm facing the same problem.

i just got a nuvi 205, been trying hard to know more about malsingmaps and mfm...

there are many POI to add in...however, mapsource has been mentioned often....

i tried to download it from Garmin website but kept on requesting for previous version which i had never touch or know in the 1st place.

how to get it start going ?
i tried to read the wiki but it's like reading a driving textbook without practical...

Hi Bro

You have to use winrar unpack mapsource_6141.exe (or other version) and then run the "main.msi" first. later run the "setup.exe"
