OMG! i did it wrongly, i forgot to refresh with the US v2.80 firmware and straight away goes to sg/my v2.30 firmware refresh. Now it show me firmware v 2.30.

Can i proceed to update to ver 2.70 to enable the JCV? if not, how to roll back the firmware update?

Hi Tresca,

Yes, it is possible to roll back and forward. You just need to know how to do it, that's all.

If you have successfully changed the firmware to 2.30, i guess your HWID is 930 (SG/MY) from HWID 932 (932).

Now that you are armed with the firmware 2.80, simply rename your regn file to 093001000280.rgn and then use the updater.exe to flash again. Make sure that you wait until the full process is completed before you remove the USB. Otherwise, your GPS will contain half "nobody knows" firmwares and half "nobody knows" files and it is hard to restore to original version.

If you are not sure what is your HWID now that you have flashed to 2.30, pleasse use g7win program.

Good luck bro!

i manage to rollback to my earlier firmware v5.00
then, i started to run the US firmware v2.80 (093201000280.rgn), but it shown no update avaialble.
what had happened?

shall i rename the file to 093001000280.rgn or 082701000280.rgn and try again?
TQ

i see, that's simple :) Now that your set has become a USA set with firmware v5.00, so your regn file should look like this:

082701000280.rgn

Try again!
