do you think it will work on the 260w?

Yes, Nuvi 260W with HWID 0827 can be flashed to 255W firmware SgMy 2.60. I've done mine about 3 weeks ago and get to enjoy Lane Assist on my NT Australia 2010 map and JV on MSM map. The fact is that I'm not the first and I'm not the last to do so. The risk was worth it as I read in MSM forum that this cannot be done and that I need to purchase localized Nuvi to do so. Looks like a lot of marketing hype to me.

One word of caution is that you need to closely follow the instructions on how to do it (i.e. remove your SD card if you have one installed and delete off the "Text" and "Voice" folder from your Nuvi's Garmin folder). Other than that, the conversion is smooth sailing all the way. \:D/

May I ask you guys one question. Since you are enjoying JCV on MSM and other maps, why are you posting here in MFM?

I don't think it's possible for non-widescreen units, as there is no space to display JCV images. :-k

Hi drsec,
Do you think that possible you can open this thread topic on MSM forum ?
I can 100% sure that this sec you post the thread, the following sec will immediately deleted by the others.
yes, we know that presently only MSM or CNNT support this feature,
Why you don't give other members to experience on this JCV/Lane assist feature ?
I search your post, you did flash you nuvi to sing/mal version and experience on the JCV feature,
then, you think that it's not good enough, so you flash it back to US version, is it ?
you give your chance to try it, why you don't give other members chance to try so.
if they don't like this, they may change it back to origin US firmware like you.

I did felt that you're not so like people to post this topic here.
do you hear before "One man's meat is another man's poison" and
"One man's poison is another man's meat".
you don't like it, doesn't mean other members also don't like it.

Sometimes, new feature may attractive people. but their device not support. But they desired to get this feature.
So, do you suggest him to waste the money to buy expensive unit ?

Please just give some chance to members to try it whether it's good or no good.
Most of the garmin user love here mfm forum but not other forum.

I personally have some opinion like you after using the MSM NT with JCV.
that's why, I switch it to beautiful MFM map since I joined here.
Finally, I believe all our member we love mfm map.
Again, just let them to try it out.
Thanks. Appreciate your understanding.
:tq:
