Excuse me for sounding silly, but I've yet to try this Mobile XT thingy so, is this software that requires an external BT gps? What does the version that works with the internal gps of S60 phones called? Are these only sold with the microSD cards? Where may one get one in Kuala Lumpur?

Regards & thanks in advance.

This is a grandmama story la, anyway you have 2 options:
1. Get a garmin external bluetooth GPS aka 10x, you got the MXT softwaer upgrade free for life, so far this is happening.

2. To use MXT sofware with you internal phone gps, you'll need to buy garmin memory card with software

Alternative, search for internet lo

I like the new interface. Anyone noticed that the recalculating seems to take longer to activate once you deviate from your route. Other than that, just love the new 'feel'.

Re: Garmin Mobile XT for Window Mobile new version - V5.00.10W

Postby mongoose55 » Mon Sep 29, 2008 12:41 pm

Here's a curly problem....or rather a blotchy problem with the new GMXT version.

I had installed it to my GPS unit..... :good: firstly great that I could change vehicles..thanks to the new version GMXT 5.0.0.10W
I encountered some problem which did not occured on MSM v2.29.

I see grey square blotches at closer zoom like 30M but disappears when I zoom out like 100M in my GPS unit.
This issue never occurred in the former GMXT 4xxxxx before.

These appears on 2D not seen on 3D.

It could be the names of roads

I am not sure if this is a bug with MSM v2.30 version or the GMXT v5.0.0.10W release as I renewed both
almost about the same time.
Have not tried it with MFM 1.03 which I downloaded this morning
Has anyone faced this issue? :ko:
I attached a jpg of this issue.

Any idea bros and sis out there.. :-' ?

BTW ...I like your new MFM1.03 updates which has wider roads as shown in Mapsource unlike MSM version which
looked like pencil line widths.

Cheers Mates.

The grey square blotches problem solved by uninstalled the GMXT 5XXXX then install back the GMXT 4XXXX, then reinstall the GMXT 5XXXX again. The problem gone.

The grey squares are what used to be Condo icons. It appears V5.0 does not recognise our condo icon.

I think the grey boxes are road POI instead of icons. Try installing your gmapsupp.img without road POI as an option to see if the grey boxes are still there.

I am happy to report that ...... I replaced MSM Gold 2.30 with the latest MFM v1.03(see my previous post)

viewtopic.php?f=12&t=152&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=40

Since then, those blotches had gone away...no more square blotches.... So I kinda think that
there must be some errors that those good mapper of MSM had done.. to the latest MSM Gold v2.30

I did do a combined MSM Gold v2.30 and MFM v1.03 but the problem still existed.

Now I don't have to do any sort of reinstall of GMXT at all a valued member had suggested...Thanks anyway..

Another plus about the latest MFM v1.03 is that the roads appear wider and looked more practical as
viewed in Mapsource and also the POI icons are business related... ie..Shell stns and Petronas stns
and also McDonalds appear as what they should... thanks a lot to Antyong for his contribution there.

For those newbies... Antyong has his own website on http://antyong.com there are some great GPS tools
to help you combine or load POIs to gmapsupp.imgs for GMXT.... Way to go ...Antyong =D> :good:

Cheers
