MapSource software version 6.15.7 is out on 9 October 2009.

Changes made from version 6.15.6 to 6.15.7:

Fixed an issue where maps could not be transferred on certain non-English Windows installations.

Reduced size of symbols when configured to use small symbols.

Fixed an issue finding campgrounds on some newer map products.

Hi all the sifus out there,
would any one be willing to start a preschool class for a newbie who is a slow learner and a fast forgeter?
i have gotten myself a Garmin etrex vista hcx for mountain biking, my unit do not have a street map but only a topo map. Can any one guide me in the installation. a step by step instruction is necessary as I'm also a computer idiot. Thank you in advance. cheers

Bro Zach Lk Sow, nobody is born an idiot. It is just some of us are slower in the implementation / absorption of knowledge.

eTrex Vista HcX unit does not have internal memory for storage of maps. The map file gmapsupp.img should be transferred to SD card /garmin sub-directory.

Download the mapsource installer and follow these instructions in this thread viewtopic.php?f=28&t=662

Thank you for the very fast reply, i forgot far too fast to tell you these I had done:
1) installed trip and waypoint manager and wedupdate.
2) installed mapsource v 6.15.7
3) installed MFM-Garmin-091026
4) west Malaysia topo map. MFM-SRTMWM 090918
5) East Malaysia topo map. Apparently I need to install a software called ezGMap to merge the above maps. How do I do it considering the above installation.
