hello. I need help here. I tried to flash my nuvi using the instruction from http://nuvi255wfirmware.blogspot.com/. but then when i used the updater.exe, there's an error. Now my garmin stuck in 'loader loading...' mode. Anyone can help please..

Bro mka2903, you need to revert to original firmware using RGN meant for your Nuvi. Your's is which model and (HWID if you can remember)?

1. Download this RGN (HWID 0827 v5.00): http://www.sendspace.com/file/2udovb
2. Drag & drop RGN into Updater.exe, select USB.
3. If your Nuvi is non-bootable, just connect to PC using USB cable, Updater.exe should be able to detect it.
4. Proceed with flashing (if it refuses to flash, rename RGN to 082701000500.RGN and repeat from Step#2).
5. After successful flashing, connect to PC, and get further updates via Webupdater.

I tried 205w500.rgn and this message comes out: "The garmin device has returned an error status while receiving data packets. This could be due to a malfunction in the Garmin device or an error in this application."

when i change the file name to 082701000500.RGN, it says: "No updates available for you products."

Are you sure your Nuvi205W is US version? Can you remember the SW version?

Also try renaming RGN to 093001000500.RGN.

I bought it from US. But maybe it's not a US version. Where can i find the SW version? When i change it to 093001000500.RGN, "No update for you products"

Normally Nuvi must be able to be booted before you can check it's SW version.

Maybe you can try using G7ToWin to check the info from a non-bootable Nuvi. Download the utility from here: http://www.gpsinformation.org/ronh/g7towinwithhelp.zip

1. After you have extracted the files, run "g7towin.exe".
2. Select File > Configuration > Com Port > USB (tick) > OK.
3. Connect Nuvi to PC.
4. Select GPS > Get GPS ID.
5. See if (correct) HWID and Software version is stated there.
