Garmin Mobile XT Software Problems

i already install gmxt v5.00 at nokia 6210 navi. but no navi voice.. anybody can solve my problem..

You need to download the voice files from Garmin and install into your SD card... Apart from your device installer, you need to download the following files too:

Garmin Mobile XT Free Basemap Ver. 4.xx.xx as of Apr 19, 2007 <---- This I presumed you already have...

Garmin Mobile XT Support Files Ver. 4.xx.xx as of Jul 11, 2007 <---- This one contains helps files and voice... Download this as well...

ok tq bro EastMushu.. problem settle. i copy file xxx.vpm in folder voice and paste at e://garmin/voice.

version 5 is nice...but i encounter the display shut after 5-10mins idle (while navigating due to on highway). i have set my settings to make sure the backlight is always on and while navigating but it still shuts off. when i on the screen shows gps device off and searching. then it got locked again... but after idling another 5-10mins, it does the same thing. i have never encountered this with version 4. any help?

I had this problen with my old PDA as the processor speed was too slow to handle the GMXT. I ended up using Mapking that time and just change my PDA lately to a higher speed processor and it work fine. I beleive you need a minimum of 400mHz to run GMXT. Also check the ram availability.

my phone's CPU is only 200Mhz & it still runs fine. in fact i feel mapking is more laggy on my phone

i still feel version 5 is ok..but the backlight override settings that makes me nuts! i tried to search under registry on backlight but cant find any....any help pls

my version in 5.00 10w .. i just updated to 5.00 20w from garmin website. will monitor the backlight the next few days.

To set the backlight to always on;

Click on [Tools]-->[Settings]-->[Display]-->[Backlight Override], check Always On and leave the rest unchecked.

With this setting, the backlight will never turn-off as long as GMXT is running.

Try deleting all the setting files in your device garmin folder...

done...reinstall and it works now. tq
