As long as head-unit uses Garmin Navigational Software, our maps can be used.
You need to look at the specs or ask seller. Also check with manufacturer

so can i upload the mfm or msm map on the first two link? so far the manufacturers have given me straight no, and very long explaination about warranty and legal issues.

For Kenwood set sold in Sg with Garmin Navigational software, maps are stored in SD card.
Keep the original and do not touch its contents.
Buy another card and store map file gmapsupp.img in /garmin subfolder.
Anything go wrong, just use back original SD card.

MfM releases a few map formats ie.. Garmin - Galactio - Papago - iGo Primo - Mio Explore More

The map format that works on a particular Kenwood set model depends on which GPS OS ( Operating system ) is used

For example if Kenwood decides to use Garmin navigational software, then it will only work with Garmin format map

Manufactures could use one or more third party format GPS navigational software in different models.

You have to do your homework and find out which / what GPS Navigational software is preloaded into a particular model Kenwood set.

Anybody can help me...
My Volvo S60 has built in Navigation. The map is from Navteq and seems out of date.
Is there anyway I can use any of the maps for Malaysia here ? (other than through Volvo which is out of date and very expensive).
Or anyone who provides this updating service.
Thanks.

The problem with built in GPS is that you are at mercy of the car manufacturer who supplied you the navigational system.
Suggest you buy a off the shelf GPS unit like Garmin. It is not expensive and you can use our free maps here
