tks wrote:The number one thing I don't like about our Garmin device is its handling of situations where the GPS signal is lost e.g. when entering tunnel. The device dies on you, and you are totally helpless. The screen shows nothing but "Lost Satellite Connection". You try to see which exit you were supposed to take but it's not on the screen anymore. You press to preview the route you were supposed to take and the device tells you "No route available". What the heck?

Is that right guys? That Garmin will be totally helpless when you entering Tunnel like eg: Smart Tunnel?
Becoz my Chinese GPS which is using IGO8, when i entering a tunnel it automatically to Simulation mode ...so u can still know which lane u need to be in if there is a junction in the tunnel....
Garmin nuvi 255w + MFM110117 = THE BEST GPS EVER!!! = YOU WILL NEVER EVER GET LOST (I hope so) :P

A curved road should look like a curved road, not a series of short straight roads joined together. The maps look like they are drawn by a 5 year old.

I don't think that has anything to do with the device itself. It is the map data. So far I have not come across such case. But if there are, you should feedback to the map supplier.

I'm using the latest MSM map on my 1 week-old Garmin 765.

I did a side by side comparison with a 255W when driving, using same map version. The map on the 255 looks better than the 765. Now regretting liao.

In fact, maps on Garmin Mobile on Nokia E71's tiny screen looks better/smoother than the both of them!

Comparitive screenshots will be most helpful.

Sure, I'll try to get screenshots of that spot where the differences came out the most. A curved piece of road between Kampung Baiduri and Jalan 222 in petaling Jaya.
